Ethereum is potential altcoin and it has lot of advantages thus in future ethereum popularity will increase again and it will be more strong than other altcoins although ethereum not equal to bitcoin .

Bitcoin remains a Bitcoin like that and cannot be confused with other altcoins because Bitcoin and Ethereum are also very different but one destination with the type of cryptocurrency.
So, Ethereum will never be like Bitcoin because the identity of Ethereum is in the EThereum network and founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin .
Unless Vitalik Buterin left the Ethereum team and exiled to planet Mars. LOL

I don't think we need to compare it to Bitcoin because EThereum is just an altcoins.
Altcoins Ethereum is indeed very charming and is widely used by traders but if we compare between EThereum and Bitcoin it is not good and this is a big mistake.

bitcoin will not go anywhere. bitcoin will remain in its position as parent of coins or altcoins. and bitcoin will not die anytime soon. so never have a thought or assumption that ethereum will replace bitcoin. because that is impossible (in the near future)  )

I think this possiblity is too low because bitcoin domination is increasing again in cryptomarket as well as ethereum ERC20 market is almost died and lot ethereum based projects are declined too deeply they need strong recover but still ethereum is going down so ethereum will always be in second or third position.
