Ανακοινώθηκε άλλη μια δημοπρασία των αμερικάνικων αρχών για κατασχεθέντα Bitcoin από παράνομες δραστηριότητες. Τα 2.700 Bitcoin που θα δημοπρατηθούν αυτή την φορά προέρχονται από διαφορετικές πηγές κατά κύριο λόγο από συλλήψεις ατόμων με εγκληματική δραστηριότητα στο dark web.
This sealed bid auction is for 2,719.32669068 bitcoins in one block. The required deposit to participate in this auction is $100,000.00 USD.
These bitcoins were forfeited in various federal criminal, civil and administrative cases, including:

Τα Bitcoin θα δημοπρατηθούν σε ένα ενιαίο block ενώ προτάσεις συμμετοχής θα μπορούν να υποβάλουν οι ενδιαφερόμενοι μέχρι τις 18 Αυγούστου. Η δημοπρασία θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 22 Αυγούστου.
Η τελευταία δημοπράτηση Bitcoin από τις αμερικάνικες αρχές πραγματοποιήθηκε πριν μερικούς μήνες και αφορούσε το τελευταίο μεγάλο πακέτο των κατασχεθέντων Bitcoin από το drug shop silk road. Εκτός από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και η Αυστραλία έχει επιλέξει την δημοπράτηση όσων Bitcoin κατάσχει από παράνομες δραστηριότητες.
