Bitcoin has been established since 2009 - it has the network effect, is recognised as digital gold and is the grandfather of all crytpocurrencies. It is recognised as the branded cryptocurrency and is used to transfer monies internationally (sometimes illegally, sometimes not) quickly and effectively.
Dogecoin has a picture of a dog on it - it is a currency that was initially started as a bit of fun but has no real fundamentals to it.
I know which coin I would hold (and indeed do hold), but the decision is yours. Please do your own research.

Doge coin is below $1 and it is gradually climbing up. It has shown some kind of stability for this few weeks when almost all coins, Btc inclusive, we're red. It is a good investment since it is gradually gaining popularity. I think it has the potential to rise before this year ends

Dogecoin is certainly one of the most interesting cryptocurrencies in the world. There are several benefits compared to other coins but I still think it’s a little bit like a bubble. My prediction is that cryptocurrencies will go on rising, in general, and Doge will be one of them. However, I’m pretty skeptical about Dogecoin in the long term.
