It's a really memorable event. If he hadn't used bitcoin to buy pizza that day, bitcoin wouldn't have started and maybe people wouldn't have started showing much interest in bitcoin.  And if nothing like that happened that day, it is doubtful whether we would have seen Bitcoin at such a level. Yes, the creator of Bitcoin had the goal of making Bitcoin to the point where people could use it as an alternative to money. so it might have been massively publicized either way. But Laszlo Hanyecz's activity that day helped give Bitcoin a further boost. thanks to Laszlo

It's the biggest and most memorable event in the history of Bitcoin, that transaction paved the way for the use of Bitcoin as a means of purchase, and as long as Bitcoin is in existence, this event will headline every May 22 of every year, this is why whenever I eat pizza I remember this big event unfortunately the pizza store in our place is under renovation that I failed to remember this day.

Thats the thing that people forget about, this dude didn't bankrupted or anything, I have read his response about seven years ago, and not even just recently and he said that he had a lot more than that and kept it, even if he sold it seven years ago that is still a wealthy person, and I am sure that he still keeps some for sure. This dude had tens of bitcoins, maybe over 100k amount, and he used it exactly as intended, as a currency, and made more of it later on as well. Its definitely a good day but I do get a chuckle every time people say "he must regret it", dude not only has more, but the bitcoins he has left, increased in value thanks to his transaction as well.

I don't like the way he tries to promote Binance by taking advantage of any event, just wearing a T-shirt with the platform's logo is enough.
