HydroCoin HYC will be the first cryptocurrency for the blockchain community empowering hydrogen industry. It enables the community to participate on hydrogen technologies. It will be a unique way to invest in companies, projects and new technologies for hydrogen production. Our vision is to produce power from the crop. It is a well-known dream of human beings to use crop for producing energy. Hydrogenial is a century project. Hydrogenial will be the first and only one among many projects regarding hydrogen production. It is definitely a project for the future. Energy industry based on hydrogen is still in the early stages. For example only few hydrogen stations exists in Germany. In the near future it will be hundreds or thousands. We, the HydroCoin team believe, that there are enough potential to build a new hydrogen standard. A hydrogen standard, which represents hydrogen produced only by clean methods like enhanced reforming of biomass. In the first step we follow the aim to transfer different classes of biomass into substitute natural gas, later on, we will focus on gas handling technologies to derive hydrogen from the synthetic gas. These gas handling technologies are now in development in different research groups at universities worldwide. Some of these groups are already spinned off to private companies. Highly qualified scientists, physicists, chemists and engineers are working on that solutions to extract hydrogen from different gases. Hydrogenial trace a new path in direction of transforming biomass into hydrogen. Intended technology is the Absorption Enhanced Reforming Process(AER). This process is well-proofed based on different biomasses on laboratory dimensions. Executed by a research institute in south Germany. Our bet is now, to show the world, what is running in the laboratory environment perfectly, will also run in real world conditions. Hydrogenial is a century project, which brings the hydrogen production on a new level. You can participate.

Current political situation in many countries forces the traffic-sector to change to cleaner vehicles. Combustion-engines are already reaching the maximum pollution-level, as the latest „Diesel-Gate“ scandal indicated. Electric vehicles (EV) using batteries are available for customers, and the range of some models is already comparable to cars with combustion engine, but the long time to charge the batteries is still a limitation of this technology. EV using fuel-cell technology with hydrogen as fuel are an alternative. In the last decade vehicles with fuel cell became more important. Public facilities like municipal services, transportation services, hospitals, fire alarms, and many more already started to change their fleet to fuel-cell based electric vehicles. Many of those public services announced to think about such a change within the next 5 years.

  • Hydrogen is the first, lightest and simplest element in the periodic table.
  • It's the most abundant element in the universe.
  • Most of the hydrogen on earth exists in the form of water and organic compounds.
  • The sun converts hydrogen into helium, producing vast amounts of energy.
  • Hydrogen reacts explosively with oxygen, chlorine and fluorine.
  • Henry Cavendish discovered hydrogen, in the 18th century.
  • Hydrogen means "water producing(genesis)"


Hydrogen is a gas with extremely low density and high storage densities are difficult to achieve. At ambient conditions it takes 11 cubic meters to store 1 kilogram of hydrogen. Conventional hydrogen storage only works under very high pressures (compressed hydrogen: 700+ bars) or very low temperatures (liquefied  hydrogen: minus 253  °C). This generates additional risks and requires energy intensive compression and liquefaction procedures.


Hydrogenious Technologies developed a breakthrough in hydrogen storage. The safe and efficient storage of hydrogen in Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC). LOHC can be stored and transported under ambient conditions in the existing fuel infrastructure without the need for high pressures or low temperatures. One cubic meter of LOHC can store more than 600 cubic meters of hydrogen gas. This innovation is currently under development. HydroCoin HYC will help develop and kickstart this technology so it becomes available for trucks, ships and many other utility-vehicles world wide. 1000 litre of this liquid can carry 54 kg of hydrogen. This liquid acts like a battery, that can be loaded and unloaded. It is safe and can be used with conventional tanks and trucks for storage and transportation.

Who are we addressing?

Our first and main target is the world of research and development (R&D). In 2015, this market was estimated to be worth 1.9 trillion US$ worldwide. In extension, the portion of this market that represented research coming out of labs and used for corporate purposes was only of 7%, corresponding to 135 billions US$.
The percentage is low because in the current system, trades are limited by administrative difficulties that remain a hurdle for small trades (small trades that often consist of a few phone calls and a one-day mission).

This market is in fact connected to the three basic rules of the knowledge economy:

Why a dedicated token and a need for blockchain?

Now, we not only have an infinite market , but it also presents an opportunity for exponential growth once the efficiency of positive sum trades is realized, along with the creation of new knowledge by harnessing great minds and gathering ideas in one global place.
To guarantee the sustainability of our knowledge ecosystem, we create a dedicated currency, CTY (connecty) an ERC20 token.


The creation of this new currency is necessary for three main reasons:

  • Rating knowledge trades with currency. the world of science hates money. Most scientists and other kinds of knowledge owners aren’t motivated by money. Their objective is to create knowledge and in general, they are fundamentally opposed to the financial model. Using a token allows us to overcome this hurdle. It will also have multiple use cases on our platform (purchase books, reviews, subscriptions to scientific and tech magazines, tickets for conferences and salons…). The knowledge owner will, in the end, never have to use FIAT currencies if they so desire. They can sell knowledge for CTY, purchase other knowledge for CTY, creating new knowledge in the process.

  • Setting up a circular knowledge economy. The challenge is to allow the free and unlimited trade of knowledge between people, without restrictions. But trades still have to be measured and quantified to be fair to those who share knowledge. Those sharing the most will be able to use their earned tokens and spend them through our knowledge store or convert them into the currency of their choice.

  • A reliable and secure trade option for this global scale project. ERC20 tokens bring all the positive features of the blockchain: Security, decentralization, confidentiality, very low operating cost. But it also brings aspects of the Smart Contracts technology (automatisation of processes, flexibility, trust and reliable environment...).



As mentioned earlier, the CTY token is a utility type token, namely intended to be used as knowledge currency on the Connecty.io platform, to take advantage of all the services offered on it.

The currency of Knowledge, CTY, will have different roles:

  • To purchase knowledge on the platform from those selling it (certified experts, reliable professionals, scientists, technicians, specialists…).
