Does anyone have personal experience with Joinmarket or at least experience from a reliable source?

After the departure of Samurai and Wasabi wallets from the Coinjoin feature, Joinmarket seems to be the only remaining "free" option.

I would like to get feedback from someone who has used JM. How safe and effective is it in general?
What are the pros and cons here?
Is there a risk here and can developers be prosecuted by the feds?

I haven't used Joinmarket.net personally but I can surely say that you should be careful from it because it's not worth it to go after a platforms whose domain name isn't a good one. I would never go for that one even if it become the last option for us.

Unfortunately, I have never used Joinmarket and therefore do not have any reviews of the features or reputation of the service it provides. I am only curious about the reasons why users continue to choose and use Joinmarket despite knowing that it is at risk of being charged and investigated in the US in the future.

Samurai and Wasabi have abandoned users in the US crypto market, I think Joinmarket may also be able to take similar actions. At present, I cannot access joinmarket.net and only receive the message "This account has been suspended". I am not sure what happened to this service

Samurai is seized and developers are arrested, while Wasabi disables the Coinjoin feature. They didn't abandon anyone, they were pressured by the US government.

Now it is also unavailable for me, strange. There is another message that the server is overused or the allowed limit has been exceeded. I hope that's the only issue because at some point the site will be available again

Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources.

I never used Joinmarket but I researched it and I know that jamapp.org is the best modern graphical interface if you want to try it.
One thing that put me of from testing it is the fact that fees can be significantly higher that using traditional coinjoin or centralized mixers, especially when mempool is full.
Risks are smaller with using Joinmarket, so there are pros and cons.

I just checked their website, for some reason it says account suspended, this is the very first time I am trying to check and I do not have any VPN on, so it is weird to be already banned even before I have ever visited the website. That alone should raise some serious red flags for anyone who wants to use it. Secondly, I went and checked their twitter, and there is nearly zero interest to it, sure the yare not active but you could defend that by saying you do not have to be active on twitter to be a good business, which is right, but if nobody n twitter cares for you and has a community to back you up, then yeah that is not a good look at all.

I can't access the website, so i assume you're talking about this JoinMarket https://github.com/JoinMarket-Org/joinmarket-clientserver. Personally i haven't tried it yet, since it's not very user-friendly. It also require you to run full node, so i expect almost none of us actually have actual experience with it.

Actually, just like many of us here in this forum, this can be my first time to hear on Joinmarket.net and when i tried to access the site it is already suspended which is a red flag for the said platform as it can already be bankrupt therefore we have to stay away from it. Since it belongs to the same category with Samurai and Wasabi wallets, the more we should say NO with that. Now, of course, this is just now an academic discussion since the site is not anymore functioning but in case it can be back we should be warning people - especially newbies - about it. There is always that big risk when we are using a tool that the government don't find to be legit and above board, no matter if we agree or disagree.
