前年推出 iPhone 7，蘋果就不在 iPhone 做 3.5mm 插口，改為隨附 Lightning 的 EarPods 有線耳機，並推出 AirPods 等無線耳機供用戶另外購買。除此之外，蘋果提供一條 Lightning 對 3.5mm 轉接器，給仍使用 3.5mm 耳機的用戶。但最新發表的 iPhone XS、iPhone XS Max 及 iPhone XR，不再提供轉接器了。



從蘋果官網可見，iPhone XS、iPhone XS Max 及 iPhone XR 都不再隨機附送 Lightning 對 3.5mm 轉接器，意味著消費者只能另外購買，或是轉用 Lightning 的 EarPods 或無線耳機。iPhone 8、iPhone 7 版本降價後，也不再隨機附送轉接器。
