Title: Be careful of the fake airdrops/giveaways on facebook
Post by: Zed0X on February 07, 2020, 09:04:37 AM
Be careful of the crypto-related facebook pages that we follow because some scammers are imitating them.

Here is how they do it to make it look legit:

The link provided is a fake website (do not visit)
Code: [Select]
https://sites.google.com/site/exmrfdnairdropprograms/
(https://i.postimg.cc/QtvdHK16/fake-exmr-2.png)

The "Get 2500 EXMR" will lead you to a fake MEW and the objective is for you to submit your PK (do not visit website and/or enter private key)
Code: [Select]

They can copy any popular facebook page that's why we need to double or even triple check the legitimacy of these airdrops/giveaways. Please help in reporting the phising sites mentioned above to https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_general/

For those interested, you can also report the fake facebook page

(I've already posted a similar topic in another forum)

Good information 👍. I always avoid fake airdrops or giveaways like that ... because very risk stealing our data like PK. I will crosscheck first. indeed the most effective way for spammers to spread fake airdrops to join via facebook, most of the targets are newbie.

I think this thread needs to be UP because it is important reminders to many newbies and even old timer to stay away or learn how to
be safe from those scammers and sometimes even hackers using fake pages to get our details. I may new to this forum but I fully understand
how these scams works and how many have been victimized because of lacking in knowledge ,
so lets try to bump threads like this for future reference and for  OP also to keep this updated for other scam attempt .
