When you look at the coinmarketcap ranking and considering Ethereum popularity so far, you may agree that ethereum will regain the number two position in no distance time. So it will be, in 2019 ethereum should release several updates and this should help ethereum to return to the second line, so the growth of the market itself can raise ethereum to the second line, everything will happen soon.

Yes I have the same thought too, currently ETH is pumping and trying to take back the second position, I believe with the next month upgrade, ETH will surely beat Ripple and gain the second position from Ripple

I am actually following the marketcap of the two coins. I have said it already in a previous post that ETH may regain the number two spot before the year ends. About $600K difference with 2 days to go.

I does not think number 1, 2 or 3 is important at all. Instead of focusing on which number it is at we should just buy promising coins from what we think and the research that we do.

For ETH if it wants to go further in the future, ETH will have to have more advanced technology and with the upgrade next month I think it will help to boost the speed of ETH network

Ethereum over the years has proven to be a great altcoin and I strongly have no doubt that it will regain its second position. It’s just a matter of time.

Ofcourse Ethereum will regain its second position anytime again from Ripple as we are seeing ethereum is rising as compare to other altcoins. Even we have a hardfork of ethereum in the next month I believe that is also one of the reason for ethereum to rise at the moment.

To be honest Ethereum blockchain is one of few most used and useful Blockchain in the whole Crypto space and that is a fact. Ethereum will regain it's natural position very soon, Ripple is now ranked in the totally wrong place and it will retrace to where it belongs 3rd place and I think even 3rd place is just too much for Ripple.

Agreed, I think ETH is strong enough after next month upgrade and will take back the second position from Ripple, ETH is a sleep giant and now that giant is going to wake up

It has happened Ether has taken over as expected. When the argument was raging and I always maintain that XRP lead will be a short while and that ether will eventually take over and maintain its position just behind bitcoin.

It seems that the struggle between ethereum and ripple for second place in terms of capitalization will continue for a very long time. We did not have time to rejoice that ethereum again took its second place, and after a week or two again ripple ousted ethereum from second place. The difference in their level of capitalization remains minimal, and after four days we expect the implementation of significant improvements in ethereum. Apparently, the ripple will have to shift to third place again.

This week ethereum dropped second place once again in this year although it's Market capitalization is almost close with Ripple market capitalization however I hope ethereum Blockchain will up again and it stable in second position but we should wait few weeks because ethereum is updating their technology.

I see ethereum is going down now, Ripple has overtook ethereum now. But I think ethereum will get back again, it will rise soon.

ETH has reclaimed the second position from Ripple but I don’t know how long ETH can remain in this position because Ripple is a true opponent now when have more and more successful projects

Ethereum has already regained its position as #2 on CoinMarketCap from ripple. I knew it was just a temporary fall, it wouldn't take time before eth gets back.

Now it's Bearish and all altcoins are down, except for the rather stable coin Ripple followed by Bankers and always collaborating with Banks around the world.

I think It is possible, But I see ripple XRP is very potential and so high demand now. It is bank coin and more stable than other coin.

Hopefully ethereum can achieve its position as before with a large amount of transaction volume. Because a lot of this is a time when prices are still cheap to buy ethereum to be a long-term investment asset. So that it will increase the amount of trading volume on the market. ETH is the most useful coin. So it's simple to go two number position in coinmarketcap. Now ETH price very low. But hope ETH Will Reach 2000$ this year.

I dont think that was possible before the launch of constantinople upgrade. Everyone is in doubt when they found some security issues on the platform. After that we will see ethereum on number two position again.

I think ethereum wouldn't reclaim 2 position if hard fork not yet to do. Everyone waiting hardfork done and successfuly upgrade.

The ethereum hardfork not released yet but I believe the hardfork because after release ethereum price will increase significantly then it move up again in cryptomarket perhaps after hardfork realise ethereum maybe maintain second position in cryptomarket.

Ethereum has already returned on the second place on coinmarketcap. I think it is going to be stronger to survive on two position. The issue of Constantinople hard fork makes the value of ETH to increase in the two last days before. It is a sign of better improvement in ETH.

Currently Ethereum is in second place with M. Cap $ 31 billion, while Ripple is in second place with M. Cap $ 15 billion. So Ethereum has left Ripple as the main competitor of Ethereum in the Coinmarketcap ranking. So Ethereum I think it's safe in this position now.

ETH should be stronger in 2019. I don't see a chance of Ripple to beat Ethereum again. I have already read many discussions about the price prediction of ETH in 2019. Most of them agree that Ethereum will possibly rise significantly at the end of 2019.

To me, with all the innovations and contributions that ETH has brought to cryptocurrency world, the second rank on market cap should always belong to ETH. Ripple, on the other hand should not have a high rank although it's a good centralized coin. However, market cap is not anything that one or two individuals can decide. Market will reflect a coin's capabilities.
