Lol I think it is a bit harsh to demote some to Baby.

Jr. Member and removal of their -karma should be a fair start for them. If they become repeat offenders, a suspension should be appropriate.

This would be what mnixxo suggested and what you thought was better, but fair enough.

..... Or maybe with each 10 negative karma users will go down with their rank. -10 karma 1 rank down, -20 karma 2 ranks down etc.
I prefer this one. Some of the reported plagiarists stopped copying but their numerous plagiarized posts/comments still helped them rank up.

This is why I suggested a negative karma limit (-10K) for having signature de-activated for the repeated spammers and plagiarists, rather than simply de-ranking them. I don't really mind how they are demonetized, but I think the worst offenders should be dealt with as a priority, rather than simply reduced to Jr Member and continue spamming as part of signature campaigns (from bountysuite primarily) as well as others.

Lack of financial incentive to spam = much less spamming.

In the meantime, if it's possible to change the ranks of the members listed in this topic in the way mnixxo suggested that would be great:

Arybes (-3 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=36561 (Full -> Baby)
Dodo  (-3 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=35784 (Full -> Baby)
Galon (-1 rank): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=43101 (Full -> Member)
Rembang (-4 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=39282 (Full -> 1st Step)
Sapp (-3 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=38055 (Full -> Baby)
Melon (-1 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=43093 (Full -> Member)
abdmuiz (-1 ranks): https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=12032 (Sr -> Full)

This is quite lenient but there's the suspension part which make it good also. The risk here is that they will most likely become spammers or shitty posters once they may stop plagiarizing. If they could not come up with original post before, I don't think they can come up with a good post. Having said that,  this is still a friendly forum.

I did agree on lowering their ranks. I did not focus too much on how it will be done.

I suggested the lowering of their ranks to Jr. Members at maximum to give recognition to their little "contribution" to the forum. Although we do not encourage plagiarized contents, their posts/comments somehow increased the activity in this forum thru comments/replies of other legit members.

There's that risk. There are times when I spend an hour browsing comments and there are a lot really low quality comments even from accounts with neutral or positive karma.

Having said that,  this is still a friendly forum.
Agree.

Sorry if off-topic but this guys are just funny

Commenting on Do not scare about negative karma

Frankly, negative karma is very disturbing to my mind. Every time I work on a topic in a forum, I always imagine karma following my post. I become less confident about it.

It should be like that. We have to be confident in working on the post. It must be in accordance with the topic and facts. Not a story that is made.
