Title: Which XRP wallet?
Post by: examplens on January 09, 2024, 11:46:02 AM
I believe that I could get concrete answers here.
On another platform, a user wants to withdraw XRP from the exchange, because he does not want to hold funds on any CEX.
So the question arose, what is the best choice for an XRP wallet?

Hardware wallets are not an option, because he doesn't have them at the moment, so only software. Previously, wallets services charged a fee of 20XRP just for creating/registering an address. Now that's not a small amount for just creating an address.
Are there any wallets without that fee that are reliable?

Electrum
Metamask
They can also try any wallet and custom create for xrp.
Or they can try any reputable DEX

Metamask

I didn't know it was possible to add XRP to Metamask. Thank you for the info
Do you know if there is a token lock for address registration or something similar?
Given that it goes through the BSC network, does this mean that the CEX from which the tokens are sent must also support sending via this protocol or is the Ripple network used?

If it is not possible to hold XRP in an exchange account, I would definitely recommend searching for Metamask Wallet, Safepal Wallet, Exodus Wallet or Blue Wallet. Since he doesn't have enough money to buy a hardware wallet I recommend him to keep all his XRP coins in this wallet. I keep my XRP coins in my exchange account but I am thinking of moving my XRP from my exchange wallet to my own Exodus wallet. I think Exodus and Blue Wallet are very safe and secure but keeping wallet safe is everyone's personal right.

I commonly use MetaMask if it  is about the online wallet. I know this is still risky but I am using it so far and there is no problem of using it.
Actually, there are still several wallets that are available for XRP. Beside Metamask, there are also trustwallet that is also very popular.
but once more, online wallet will be always as risky as we know. There is no guarantee that our assets will be safe at all all the time. That is why we must be very careful  when saving the coins in the online wallet.

if you are looking o=for safer one, you may go to the hardware wallet. It is of course.

As far as I know, Metamask does not support Ripple blockchain. MetaMask only supports EVM blockchains such as the BNB chain.
So if you want to get BEP-20 XRP on BNB chain, you can use MetaMask.

Another option is TrustWallet: it supports both BEP-20 XRP on the BNB chain and XRP on the Ripple chain.
Binance allows withdrawal of both types of XRP tokens.

If you care about a non-custodial wallet there are other options to choose from according to the ripple wallet list, never tested this wallet before but it generates a 12-24 word seed phrase as your backup that you can use for future recovery.

Here's the wallet name Bifrost Wallet seems no one knows this but it was released in 2019 and recommended by ripple you can also use Exodus or Coinomi since these two wallets are known than Bitfrost wallet.

Even though the Ripple subforum has been around for a long time, I never thought of discussing Ripple coin wallets.
I just checked the wallet for Ripple in the wallet software, namely Truswallet, and there must be a fee of 10 Ripple to activate the Ripple wallet.
If just making a Ripple wallet requires additional fees, that means it's not friendly to me because I don't like wallets that when first created require a fee. So sad.

We can just imagine, if Ripple price is 1 USD and requires 10 Ripple to activate the wallet, then the funds needed are 10 USD for 1 wallet activated, this Ripple is really not friendly for me. :(
