Seputar Forum / Re: Akses ke forum sangat lambat
« on: May 24, 2024, 05:25:09 PM »

I agree that nothing is perfect. That's why I asked what additional steps can be taken to further secure crypto assets.
For the average joe I think some tips have been mentioned already. Verifying files before you download them, double checking the website, creating a cold wallet, etc. If you still want more tips then you probably need to get technical, such as learning the program used to write the wallet that you used, building it on your own, making your wallet from scratch, etc. That being said, I believe being a little bit afraid that something can go wrong regardless of what we do is a good thing since it keeps us on our toes. CMIIW.

Not that I know of. Which projects are you referring to btw? I'm not an expert in EVM by any means but even if they use the same thing, wouldn't bridging still be required since they use different blockchains to begin with? I don't think existing L2 projects would try to remove their market by introducing an all-in-one blockchain. If token A in the ETH blockchain is the same as token A in their blockchain, why bother launching their network in the first place?

DeFi tokens / Re: Defi Lending platforms
« on: May 24, 2024, 05:37:04 AM »
They are not new and some went bankrupt already. One project that I know of decided to run away just a few months ago so I can say I'm still a bit bitter about these DeFi lending projects. What projects are you testing right now? I can say that most are still far off from disrupting traditional platforms. Too soon to say whether they are the future or not. For all I know banks can simply copy the process and place KYC if they want to. CMIIW.

That being said, it currently offers something new compared to traditional lending. It is easier to use since most of the time you can simply connect and lend/borrow easily. Just remember that some platforms might require KYC, especially if they don't want to deal with US scrutiny.

I don't know if this will happen, but I saw on Twitter regarding Solana being the next ETF that will get accepted after Ethereum. I see this totally absurd, but is there a chance for it to happen?
Where does that rumor come from? I think it's still too early for any new ETF even if some companies plan to introduce it to the public. Isn't Solana closely related to FTX going bankrupt too? While network stability has improved I'm pretty sure the SEC or anyone in charge can argue that introducing an ETF with such history needs more time. I honestly think it's better for the dev to focus on improving stability instead of trying to hit new ATH by fueling rumors because when the bear wakes up their reputation will take a huge hit. Ethereum Forum / Re: Gas fee on ethereum
« on: May 23, 2024, 10:09:18 AM »
I think Ethereum team if unable to fix gas fee problem then Ethereum will be unpopular.
I think it will take more than just expensive fees to kill Ethereum nowadays, especially with how abundant layer-2 projects are. I can see the mainchain transactions happening on Ethereum, then the rest happened on layer 2 or something. Compared to other blockchains, Ethereum is still one of the most secure and reliable if you compare it to something like Solana which gets an outage once in a year or so. I believe making smart contract calls cheaper is still a good idea though.

Now, while many of us would surely regret what happened, I think we should always remember that this was actually a landmark transaction, the first one where Bitcoin was used to buy something. And that is why we have the Bitcoin Pizza Day today to commemorate such a pivotal event in Bitcoin's colorful history.
Yeah, I think it's difficult to expect nothing less than people laughing or criticizing his decision to buy pizza with Bitcoin. A lot of people like to trash others nowadays, especially on the internet. I dunno why, maybe because they're too stressed with real-life problems and the internet is their place to vent. Fortunately, I've seen many people celebrate this historic day with something positive like doing quizzes, contests, and so on. Staying from social media probably helps if you don't want to get spoonfed with negativity or misinformation about Pizza Day.

Therefore, sometimes being cryptocurrencies in a gray area and there are no penalties or legal problems for those who want to buy them is much better than establishing a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
I think in a condition like that the sellers or developers will be the ones who are anxious about their future since the government can decide they will jail them because they operate without following any regulation. Hard to argue against them if they make the law ambiguous by design. I don't think any government will let people use crypto as they please anyway. Not sure how this law affects Brazilian users, but if they care about privacy and security they will likely stick with P2P. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

As you know, very lately I started doing airdrops and fortunately, I have started making some money doing airdrops. Exchanges also offering web3 wallets these days and I am using those exchanges to farm web3 airdrops as well.
Are you referring to wallets like Binance Web3 wallet? I used them once, don't remember whether I can export my seed or not. Even if I can, I don't feel comfortable with the risk of them storing my seeds on their end. Why not use a wallet like MetaMask if you plan to hunt for airdrops? Is it because of the airdrop requirement? I installed multiple web3 wallets on my browser and I can use them to hunt airdrop just fine.

It is a fun fact that I actually do the same. I just check my portfolio whenever I have spare time and mobile is in my hands, see changes, and do nothing about it. Dont know how explain this properly. Definitely not curiosity, because I would be checking portfolio more frequently. Definitely not a some kind of a professional approach, because I would have reacted on recent ETH 25% price growth in last 24h (just an example). I would not call it an addiction either.
Maybe you can figure out the reason if you collect more data about your habit. A quick analysis can suggest several hypotheses, such as habit, slight curiosity, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if that just becomes a habit so you don't really have any motivation to do that other than doing the same thing you've always done for comfort. I have more or less the same habit, albeit not exactly related to trading or crypto. If I miss that activity for a few days, or even a day, I just feel slightly uncomfortable. It is not an addiction either since I don't necessarily gain dopamine from doing that. I think that's healthy compared to checking BTC price every minute or so.

General Discussion / Re: What do you think of Elon Musk?
« on: May 22, 2024, 04:57:00 AM »
Anybody here from Indonesia?
He's trending in the last few days due to the recent Starlink launch in Indonesia. I don't think people talk much about him though, most of the tweets that I've seen are focused more on how fast Starlink is. Maybe the algorithm is just biased and tailored specifically for me. I read some news that recaps what he talked about at the ceremony. As far as I can see, it just shows his confidence that his product is going to be popular, and the government seems to appreciate him. Probably due to his speech about the possibility of investing in Indonesia for the future.

I see, so I guess the law in the Philippines and Indonesia is quite similar then? Kinda surreal to see my country's laws are clearer than our neighboring country (albeit a bit far, geographically) despite the subject being relatively new. Not sure if it shows they don't bother researching crypto that much or if they decide it is easier to make the laws quite relaxed as long as they can get taxes from the industry as soon as possible. Anyway, let's see what kind of framework will they introduce. Being too detailed can discourage international business too afaik.

Instead, they are telling all exchanges to delist Naira from their exchange, and the EFCC have also told airports not to use dollars again but Naira. Will this revive our dying currency to start gaining value over dollar, or the focus on production should be handled urgently.
Some news also suggests they think crypto or P2P is the culprit for this forex manipulation if I recall correctly. Sounds like the deflation is worse than I thought if they keep bleeding like this. I'm not an expert by any means but if there's no reason to invest in the country because they don't produce anything, I think there's no reason for the market to value their fiat currency that much. Sounds like there are complex issues and the only way to untangle the mess is by finding the right person to steer the government, which is probably a hard thing to do[1]. CMIIW.

Berita & Teknologi / Re: Coinsbit Gak Bisa WD
« on: May 22, 2024, 02:14:16 AM »
