Mining of old coins good idea?

But in the shake of CPU and GPU is it good idea to mine ?

It's not a good idea in my opinion. The old coins have greater difficulty to mine now. Could have explained more but I cannot. That's the truth.

I think its not profitable because old coins without any updates turn into shitcoins and you cant gain profit on it your wasting time.

mining old coins is not a good idea .. it is already old coins and no detail about it so why would you wasting your time to coin that is not in the new generation .. if i were you i will mine the new and good coin and sell it if it hits the high price

Old coins are harder to mine at this time. That's right @ Paulomits. It's better to mine other coins that are easier. Try to mine Siacoin, Bytcoin and Litecoin. I have mined it now.

I think it depends on what coins you will be mining. Most people prefer mining old coins that have potential, and some people like new coins because analysis of coin development in the future is more promising. No need to see old coins and new coins, the most important is the mining strategy that you will do.
