Isn't this old news? I tried to find articles from different websites, but most are 2 months old. The most popular articles are dated in 2023. Is there any change in this plan compared to when it was initially proposed? It doesn't seem like there are any notable changes, if any. A recent article suggests there's a new plan called EIA mining survey or something[1]. I wonder why they are so aggressive with crypto. Maybe because in my country the tax is so low, I find it difficult to understand how they arrive at the 30% figure.

The proposal isn't new. But recent news (which created about 2 months ago) actually talks about the prposal is pushed again by U.S. government. Although, response by mining company shown on OP's news isn't new either. I found https://www.dlnews.com/articles/regulation/bidens-dame-tax-could-destroy-bitcoin-mining-in-us/ cite statement from same source about this proposal which created last month.

Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: for fun or to earn money?
« Last post by TomPluz on Today at 12:21:06 PM »

On a personal level, gambling should be taken as a form of entertainment and such should be done only if one has some spare money and should not be given a top priority concern otherwise it can be addictive and can therefore be destructive. That is why as adults we should know how to gamble responsibly...know our boundary and the possible consequences when we are not careful of those parameters. Therefore, if one could not control himself especially if one has compulsive behavior gambling is one of the things to avoid. We know that in the history of gambling many people were destroyed all because they allow their emotions to come over and trick them to thinking that this is just like a toy to play with only to realize later than it is actually a fire that can burn a whole house and even a community. On the other side of the counter, gambling is a big business and is in fact producing many millionaires and even billionaires in the past and into the present...so if one is planning to be rich gambling is a very potent industry to enter into. And we are seeing it now with the coming of the internet, the apps, the blockchain and cryptocurrency as it would now be so easy to gamble...as they we can now do many things using our fingertips including to gamble away.

I’m sure not many casinos even can say most casinos doesn’t offer such a bonus and promotion to enjoy gambling as Wheel if Winz does, it’s my forth time now claiming the spin and I have got lucky with these 200FS yesterday, one spin got me a total 40$ of ain with the new slot named Yukon Fever , first time playing this kind of slots that offers lower volatility and bigger opportunities to win huge.
I will leave you with these screenshots, personally I recommend this casino and everyone who wants to try their bonus.

Beside that, I have made several withdrawals without any issues, the support team was quick and always answering my questions.

Nice win you got there! is that from a Gold spin? it will be awesome if it 800 FS hehe.
I only ever use it twice, I will try it again when I have some money that i can spare for gumbol.

it looks like Ethereum can’t compete against Bitcoin at all.

First of all, Ethereum have different goal compared with Bitcoin, primarily due to smart contract and token feature.

PoS can be abused by rich stakers and makes a project centralized in many ways like premined coins and devs can create much influence by staking a large amount of PoS coins. PoW is not having such issues.

It also could be abused by centralized exchange. I remember when TRON foundation with few CEX perform hostile takeover on Steem blockchain.

Many Altcoins don’t offer anymore to create private and public keys to prove ownership of funds and access it. It is very concerning and seems mind blowing to many experienced coders.
For example, when creating a Solana wallet or similar new Altcoins. Altcoin developers are not focussing on security.
Or even MEW is bitching around more and more every time going away by implementing insecure patches. We need to have our private key offline.
Many Altcoins are leaving people vulnerable which is very concerning.
Bitcoin is better like Electrum for example. Its design is not so nice but Electrum is good tech and recommended by many experts.

I somewhat agree with this part. In addition, it's not easy to find altcoin wallet which are open-source and let user have access private keys.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Impact of Halving on Bitcoin Mining
« Last post by bhadz on Today at 12:16:02 PM »
Arthur Hayes in turn warned that the market could experience a lot of volatility before and after the next halving.
Although that's not a hint at all but that's what Bitcoin is natural for. We knew it that volatility is permanent on it so whether we'd go for the halving or after that, volatility shall remain no matter what the situation of the market is. He doesn't want to give the hint but I am more absorbing this as a positive thing that if he means "a lot" then the limit of this bull run after the halving is literally the sky for its peak.

I'd like to hear your views on this issue:
  • Will the outcome of the lawsuit involving Faketoshi Craig Wright affect the value of BTC?
I don't think it will have an effect with or without Satoshi in our midst, the blockchain works perfectly and adoption is smooth, but it's a big relief that the court has proven that Craig Wright is not Satoshi there will be no interruption anymore or debate because Wright's character is very much different from the real Satoshi

Quote
  • Does Satoshi's true identity matter to your BTC investment?
The market is doing great we have not had Satoshi's presence ever since and since it is an open-source we will be doing great even if the real Satoshi exposes himself.

Quote
  • When will the community stop searching for Satoshi's identity?

We have no control over people who hold Bitcoin and the media will consider this a very good scoop and will add reputation to their name if they are the first to discover who Satoshi is, so the search will continue for many years to come.

Suggestion Box / Re: Mixers Board
« Last post by hugeblack on Today at 12:12:58 PM »

If we take a broader board, such as Technical Discussion, where there are supposed to be more discussions, you will find that the number of topics is relatively small, so I think that creating a Mixers Board will lead to fewer results.

I hope there will be more serious discussions about privacy, perhaps a sub-board under the Privacy Coins Forum or a new privacy board where members can discuss JoinMarket, Coinjoin, mixers, or even some discussion about how to make the mixers better.

so it is privacy or bitcoin privacy board not mixers board.

For example, I gave some suggestions on how to make Jambler better and perhaps decentralized such topics would be better than discussing the commercial aspects of mixers.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Wallet for ETH
« Last post by Litzki1990 on Today at 12:12:40 PM »
Which wallet do you prefer for ETH, Metamask or Phantom? And if you can explain why you have such an opinion! <3

If you want to keep Ethereum coins then you can definitely use mew wallet.  And if you want to add coins from all other platforms then you can use Metamax wallet.
Metamask is a multi-wallet and this wallet generally has the opportunity to connect all types of wallets, so if a user uses Metamask wallet, he can store other coins in addition to Ethereum. If a user wants to hold only Ethereum and choose a wallet to hold only Ethereum then My Ethereum Wallet is the right choice for him. If you use any wallet, you can give a positive review about that wallet. As I have used My Ethereum wallet before I know how safe and easy it is to keep only Ethereum in this wallet.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Are you buying now?

The market is down, as far as I'm concerned it's a great opportunity to stock up right now. I have already filled my bags with BNB, XRP and TFS. I'm waiting for alts season and then I'll think if it's worth selling it all afterwards

Seeing declining market conditions like this, of course it is the right time for crypto traders to buy coins.
We don't need to be afraid that prices will fall again, because after this deep decline prices will definitely rise again.
My message is to just do short-term trading to make a profit, because in the long term it's still worrying.
I don't agree with doing short-term trading when the market is experiencing a decline, I will do short-term trading after the halving because of the opportunity to make big profits. Currently I am just holding and analyzing the coins that I will buy when the market falls further

Agreed, it is difficult to day trade in the short term, or the market is currently in correction. The assets you have will only be in jeopardy, and for sure, in the end, you might regret them. Trading here in the crypto business requires intelligence and strategy.

And what you also said is right: holding for now is the best thing we can do if we hesitate to do day trading to get profit in times like this. Patience and waiting are the only things we can do to remain positive.
