Coinbase’s legal battle for regulatory clarity against the SEC has taken a new turn. The Third Circuit has responded to Coinbase's complaint against the SEC, which began last July when Coinbase filed a petition for rulemaking but received no response. Eight months later, Coinbase took the matter to federal court to force the SEC to respond.
Now, the court has issued an order directing the SEC to respond to Coinbase's writ of mandamus within 10 days. While grateful for the court's consideration, the focus now shifts to whether the SEC will comply with the required order.
