Forum related / Re: The quality in this forum will increase.
« on: January 18, 2024, 08:35:15 PM »
I know that there were already already high quality posters and knowledgeable  altcoinstalks users before in this forum, But with more users from Bitcointalk teleporting here, some making here their new home, I believe that there will be a surge in the quality of discussions that will be ongoing and raised in this forum.

Altcoinstalks is shifting to the next level. and I am happy to be a part of that.

This forum is getting busier because mixer campaigns are no longer allowed on the BTT forum and automatically members who have good quality posts on the BTT forum will move here and contribute here.
If this forum remains consistently busy then it's possible that in the next year this forum could become the second-largest crypto forum after BTT. If the mixer campaign is here to stay then the high quality posters are here to stay.

Crypto Exchanges / Re: Is it safe to put the tokens on the exchange?
« on: December 29, 2023, 01:09:16 AM »
It's not good to keep tokens in our exchange account, especially if it's a centralized exchange. I've had a bad experience because I was stupid in saving tokens on the FTX exchange, when the exchange was seized by the government, all the tokens I had in it had to just disappear.

Even if you are a trader, think again about putting your tokens back into your personal wallet, to reduce the chance of your tokens being lost on the exchange, currently there are quite a lot of exchanges that provide personal wallets that allow traders to store their tokens in them without being charged a fee which is expensive.

General Discussion / [Discussion] about ATT Forum
« on: December 28, 2023, 07:34:56 PM »

a few hours ago I discovered this problem when I wanted to open the ATT forum, did this happen because of the surge in active ATT users?

(Sorry in advance if this discussion has already been discussed, I ask moderator to delete this post ;D)

The reason why I brought this topic up is that most people buy and store their Btc on centralized exchanges, To I don't think  it that safe even when some benefits are attached to it While wallet is not also safe concerning the way you store your security seed phrase. But when come to hacking to me I think wallet is safer though

What you guys think?

holding bitcoin in an exchange account is really high risk, do you still remember FTX, I have some mbtc in my FTX account, actually I don't hold my bitcoin there, I only use it there for trading but when there are problems related to security there FTX, FTX was subject to seize by the government and in the end all the funds I had there just disappeared, storing bitcoin in a wallet is much safer than storing it on an exchange, especially CEX.

Privacy Coins Forum / Re: Will privacy coins survive?
« on: December 19, 2023, 10:34:47 AM »
of course, coin privacy will definitely survive, it's not that easy to shut down all existing coin privacy, just look at how monero - zcash and several other coin privacy still survive to this day, the rules regarding privacy are still protected, government intervention will not be as powerful that. what is no less important is that coin privacy developers must hide their identities, the government will definitely intervene with coin privacy developers if they are discovered.

Crypto Exchanges / Re: Status of CEX in your country
« on: December 19, 2023, 06:23:36 AM »
A few weeks ago, SEC Philippines released an announcement/warning to the public that the Binance Exchange is not a registered exchange in our country and illegally operates without a license.

Right now, Binance was given 3 months from November 29 to comply with the regulations of the Philippines.
This news was not only for Binance but the other centralized exchanges that are unregistered will also be banned.

We have a local wallet exchange that we can use (e.g. coinsph, gcash, pdax), however, Filipino crypto users find it more convenient to use Binance P2P transactions.

How about in your country, is it legal or illegal to use crypto?
How does the government make its move against CEX?

here, in my country Indonesia, CEX is really supervised by the government, not just anyone can afford to build an exchange there must be regulations and rules from the government, and cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin, are not illegal in my country, but bitcoin should not be used as a means of payment and only rupiah is allowed. Our government closely monitors bitcoin in my country because bitcoin transactions here are quite large, it could even be said to be one of the largest in the world, and our government is trying hard to get taxes from bitcoin users who transact.

Inter successfully won 2-0 over Lazio through goals scored by Martinez in the 40th minute and Thuram in the 66th minute. This victory made Inter even stronger at the top of the Serie A standings with 41 points while Juventus is in 2nd place with 37 points.

In a few hours the match between Atalanta vs Salernitana will start soon, I predict Atalanta will win against Salernitana later, they are a pretty strong team, especially in the European league, Atalanta is unbeaten.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Holding Bitcoin for long-term is risky?
« on: December 14, 2023, 10:19:06 PM »
I think Holding Bitcoin for a long time is not risky, but there might be less profit if i don't do trade.. So, to make a good profit from BTC we must do the short-term trade as well.

What do you think?

being a bitcoin holder for a long time is not detrimental at all, there are many people who have great success because they hold bitcoin for a long time, for a trader holding bitcoin for a long time will not be profitable at all, they need to make money quickly so that's the sentence you are not wrong about being a short term in bitcoin at all, it's just that different people have different perceptions and in my opinion being a bitcoin holder in the long term is also more profitable than short term.
