Maybe you put in a new buy order (with a signature) but didn't execute a trade (with a transaction)? The "taker" is the user who pays for the transaction, the "maker" is the one who puts in the buy or sell orders. Only one user executes the trade and therefore pays the transaction fee basically - this is the "taker".

In summary, you have to click on one of the sell orders to buy, as opposed to creating a "new order" in the order book with a signature. Hope that makes sense.
