getting rid of useless tokens
« on: April 27, 2022, 12:40:54 PM »
Is there a method to prevent the deposit of undesirable tokens into my wallet? I've used two different sorts of cryptocurrency wallets and keep receiving tokens I'm unfamiliar with; I've heard that such tokens are a fraudsters' trap, and I've never worked for them.

I think the only thing you can do is, for example, if you use Trust Wallet, remove it from the visible list of tokens, but not from your wallet address (for that you should send it to some address and that would make the interaction with the smart contract of that token allow the attacker to have access to your wallet). We also cannot prevent those tokens from being sent to us, so the easiest way to avoid making mistakes is to remove those tokens from the visible list of our wallet and forget about them.

I agree to my friend Freemind.

Don't interact to unknown tokens or else you may lose your funds.

Remember to disable the undesirable tokens that you didn't bought. That is the safest way not to be tempted using trust wallet.

Honestly speaking you cannot do anything to disappear those tokens in your bsc address or ethscan. Much better not to click forever.

I have many of those fake tokens and coins in my TrustWallet accounts and most of them really involved a big sums of coins but as expected they don't have real value and definitely just a display of thrash and nothing more. I am actually hoping that there can be a way to get rid of them without interacting with their trap smart contracts but so far there is nothing we can do but just hide them. We should never ever trust these tokens otherwise we can be endangering the other assets we have in the wallet.

Absolutely!.

Here the self awareness and self discipline matters a lot to avoid clicking those useless tokens intentionally to steal the funds. Impatient people and innocent one might be fall to this trap, hopefully not.

I wish everyone will be reminder to be cautious and be aware about this method. Keep safe

Yes it is annoying enough if we see thise trashes in our wallet. But we cannit do anything necause this isnwhat scammer wants. They send us those shit trash coins to trap us. But those tokens cannnot be deleted and it is just like that. I suggest to let the tokens in your wallets, we have no way to remove it right now.

Do you mean to remove it? I think there is no way for it.
We don't need to worry about the unfamiliar tokens on our wallets, just ignore them and don't take any attention. If we don't take any action, there will be nothing to happen to our wallets. That unfamiliar tokens can't hack our wallets, they only pollute our wallets with more shitty coins/tokens.  :D

Be extremely careful with all those tokens buddy, they are scam and spam tokens that are used by fraudsters to steal people's hard earned assets. Any token you're not expecting or you don't know about in your wallet, stay clearly off it, trying to swap it might get your wallet compromised.

I don't think it is necessary to do any research on those types of tokens. I think that it would only be a waste of time, since although we can access the websites of these "projects" and they may seem legal, in reality they are not. No one is going to give us tokens for no reason, that's only done by scammers, who want us to interact with those contracts to get access to our wallets. The easiest and most effective thing for us is to remove those tokens from the visible view of our wallets and forget about them.

Is there a method to prevent the deposit of undesirable tokens into my wallet? I've used two different sorts of cryptocurrency wallets and keep receiving tokens I'm unfamiliar with; I've heard that such tokens are a fraudsters' trap, and I've never worked for them.

why is your wallet having such problems? do you often press spam links or the like?

if you get a mysterious coin, it's best to delete it and never visit the website if your wallet doesn't want to be hacked.

I think the new token that suddenly enters the wallet is not caused by pressing some spam links, it's likely that it happened because the new token is embedded with some code that can see every new transaction on the network, then the token enters, even hardware wallets also experienced this, but nothing to worry about, as long as you don't make transactions with the token then the wallet is safe.

I think the only thing you can do is, for example, if you use Trust Wallet, remove it from the visible list of tokens, but not from your wallet address (for that you should send it to some address and that would make the interaction with the smart contract of that token allow the attacker to have access to your wallet). We also cannot prevent those tokens from being sent to us, so the easiest way to avoid making mistakes is to remove those tokens from the visible list of our wallets and forget about them.

You are very correct. There are so many of them in my wallet. Each time I received a token that I didn't work for, I will make it invisible in this list of my assets.

They are dust attacks and or scam tokens, and unfortunately you may not do anything about them, especially if you always use coin explorers like bscscan or tronscan. They always pop up. But if you use a wallet like Trust wallet, you can hide them

This is a new form of scam on low transaction cost blockchain networks like BSC, Polygon, Solana… Scammers send millions of people worthless tokens and incentivize them to Swap on DEXs. As soon as the user swaps these tokens, the token's protocol will take possession of the victim's account and all crypto assets will be transferred to the scammers' accounts. Be wary of weird tokens appearing in your account.
Crypto wallet apps already allow you to hide these strange tokens, which is really helpful for users.
