Can not afford gas fee to exchange token - What to do?
« on: June 02, 2023, 03:38:37 PM »
I was using Metamask to buy a BSC-based token and I did not leave enough BNB to cover the gas fee for the exchange so I cannot cash it out. I am about $0.20 short. Is there a workaround?

The only thing what to do, exchange cash to altcoin, to cover exchange fees. Or use TRON altcoin - transfers are free ( up to ~3 - 4 per day ).

I am about $0.20 short.
The initial capital for GAS fees on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is very small, not even 0.5 USD because you only have 0.2 USD left for GAS.
We have to sacrifice even harder because all the tokens are now very competent, I don't blame you either but the GAS costs are very small.
As much as possible and this is in my opinion, the minimum transaction fee on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network is 1 USD and it will feel flexible in the future.
With initial capital for GAS on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) of 1 USD, you can use it for several transactions and it is more flexible to save later, if you only use 0.3 USD for GAS for the token exchange transaction that you wrote above, that means the remaining GAS is around 0.7 USD.

As you said , BSC is low gas fee, aproximately 1$, I think Op should buy minimal $1 , if want to do transaction.
Binance smart chainis lower than ethereum.
But If we still talk about about high gas fee, I suggest OP do at other platform.that more cheap.
There are another platform that we can choose.
Maybe Solana, TRX.

the solution is just to buy with your money on an exchange or p2p to cover the costs required. 0.02 $ is not an expensive price for BSC, consider saving your BSC for later if you need it again
Exactly. He/she must know that BSC requires to gas fee so before sending their assets. P2P is one way to buy but if just need a little gas fee, I think we can ask her/his friends to send the gas fee to exchange with some money. I think the gas fee on BSC is not as expensive more than ETH, or OP can use Matic to transfer their assets

Things like this are confusing for me because a Binance Smart Chain (BSC) token requires GAS to be sent, just like Ethereum, Waves, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, zkSync etc. The thread owner should be more protective of GAS because GAS takes priority in every transaction.
The thread owner also seems to have run out of money because it was probably made for other token transactions on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network. Even though the BSC fee is cheaper than the Ethereum fee.
Because logically the gas fee is below 1 USD and he doesn't have the money to buy it.
retire and rest in peace

You can deposit money back into the exchange, for example $10, then withdraw using BNB (BSC) and save it in your metamask wallet for future transaction needs.

If you don't have money then ask your friend maybe $0.20 is a small amount, I think your friend can give it to you if he has it.

If you often interact to buy tokens on the BSC network, make sure your BSC is sufficient to cover transaction needs.

Indeed, sometimes it is quite annoying when we want to send BSC tokens but experience obstacles, namely the lack of bnb balance for the token transfer fee. Actually, usually the fee is quite small, but I often experience this because there is no or a lack of BNB coins in the wallet. If it's just a little less, maybe you can get around it by carrying out the transaction at another time, even though in fact if you use the BSC network, the fees are not that different. Therefore, usually I still sacrifice to send some BNB coins to that wallet. Yes, at least as a reserve if one day we will send BSC tokens again or other tokens.

Now Metamask applies so much fee when anyone can change their tokens and this is not good because for a long time not just me there have been so many people will add their tokens to the meta mask and after that, this company applies so much fee and so many peoples now not recommend this wallet because of its high fee.

If he has good friends then he can borrow instead of asking even though that's not a good idea, but what if he's stuck? Forced to deposit money into the exchange and then withdraw it as I said above.

Your parents taught you good things, friend.
perhaps he has now found the solution. :D

Op, You must have to keep bnb for buy/swapping any bep20 tokens. And i think fee is still lower than Ether smart chain. And metamask is good but metamask asks extra charge for their service they are providing and that's why sometimes it need higher fee than usually although there is option to set fee, lower medium or higher but for that you have to manage some bnb first

I can't give GAS to OP because this GAS is used for myself so I can send tokens and be able to trade on the PancakeSwap DEX.
For the convenience of doing business, the OP should also set aside a little money to save in the form of GAS, whether on the Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Solana etc. networks.
Many people have suggested above that Binance Smart Chain GAS is cheap compared to Ethereum GAS. If there is no other way to buy GAS from BSC, maybe I don't know because I can't give GAS to my BSC network.
