General Discussion is a kind of off topic board

This is not the kind of topic that should be bumped, although it's a "general discussion board" But this topic is kind of very off topic which suggest that there is a need to add an off topic board. If this board alao serves as an off topic, then there should be a serious moderation here because I see some serious topic that is better fitted in other boards like Economy board.

General Discussion is a kind of off topic board. You can talk about anything here, including the topics which can be raised on the other boards (if you want). It is directly said in the description of it: "Feel free to talk about anything and everything in this board." If someone wants to talk here something can be talked on some other board, it is not a matter of moderation. Only if a topic starter will decide to move it to a more topical section himself.

If it is not violating the forum rules, is in English, not an advertisement, not an obvious spam or extremely low quality, it is okay to discuss it here. Including all "very off topic". And that's why activity is not growing in this section.

If the quality of posts in that section decreases, sig managers will begin to avoid paying there, and then you will see that the number of posts will decrease. Therefore, in the future, it will depend on the quality of the current posts, whether it will turn into a useful board or it will be completely ignored like BTT offtopic.

It is low already, but you need some place to be more free to chat than in more thematic boards, even if posts here will not be counted in campaigns. Right?

Yes, this section is quite similar to what is off topic elsewhere, and I agree that the level is quite poor compared to other sections of the forum. What I do think is that this thread doesn't belong in this section, it fits more in the forum related section, if it wasn't for the 'this section' in the title.

At times I feel weakened reading posts created here because they can't at anywhere be regarded as standard posts for someone to engage on, by sharing or gaining ideas from. But what do we do about this? Nothing more than not to comment on those posts we find off-topic. By doing that, off-topic posts will indirectly be reduced as time goes on.
 
Apart from doing that, I don't think there is any way we can stop off-topic posts since the name of the board implies "General discussion'' which simply means that different types of discussion can be freely brought upon here without the moderator of the forum rating as off-topic
