well gpus ended up being terrible for 2024 never really had a breakout coin of any kind

Not going to happen, not when everyone is focusing on meme coins.
sha-256 and scrypt with asics are just about the only good things to mine
In my opinion, mining with GPUs will return more than before this year if you manage to have energy at an acceptable price it can still be profitable and then let's not forget that the cards are now also used for AI so their value will grow over time

GPU mining could totally make a comeback! With 20cent power costs, it might just work for GPUs, especially for coins like ETH classic or DOGE.
I've been mining crypto but i never tried mining in GPUs, because i think ASIC miners are better for efficiency and profitability, but for me GPUs are good if you have cheap electricity fee in your are and mine adaptable coins.
