Title: USA Pres. Trump view on Libra
Post by: Zed0X on July 12, 2019, 02:07:27 PM
The POTUS made some big waves throughout the cryptocurrency industry with his tweet today. After taking a shot at bitcoin, he immediately took a shot at facebook's libra also.

Similarly, Facebook Libra’s “virtual currency” will have little standing or dependability. If Facebook and other companies want to become a bank, they must seek a new Banking Charter and become subject to all Banking Regulations, just like other Banks, both National and International.

I personally don't care what he says about libra since I'm also not a fan of libra. What do you think about the POTUS' statement?

The US president action towards Bitcoin and Libra project has created a whole lot of news in the crypto face ever since Donald Trump issued his statement concerning this Libra project but I don't really know the reason behind his action and statement by saying that he's not a fan of Bitcoin and Libra project he also said that the us dollar is the only recognized currency that if any other body want to stand as a bank that they should seek for licensed to operates as a bank.

From Trump's stand point, he's protecting USD's leading role over other currencies. It's like the way he's protecting the US' farmers or workers. This is understandable since Libra's 2 billion potential users can pose a threat. However, from my crypto enthusiast's stand point, I don't like Libra either. Obviously, Facebook just does it for money.

Trump is a modern and interesting person, maybe Trump will become a Libra fan, helping Libra get stronger acceptance than BTC.

I don't agree with what he said about bitcoin but on libra, I think he has a point :D They are centralized like a bank anyway.

How so? In his tweet, he said libra will have little standing or dependability. That does not suggesst anything about Trump becoming a fan.

Trump tweeted about Libra proving that he really cares about this cryptocurrency, even pointing out the path to widespread acceptance. This has contributed to the popularity of Libra in the future if accepted.

What can Trump say about a coin that can become a competitor to the dollar? Of course, that it will be unreliable and that in general, you must obey the general rules established earlier in this world. Apparently, he simply does not fully understand what it is.

Agree, Trump seems to not support Libra. I really doubt if he possibly becomes a Libra fan. Trump will be always to be a fan of USD since it is the US national currency. I won't make speculation with Trump's statement, we are better to think realistically.

As the President of the country whose currrency is USD, it is only natural for him to defend it. If the time comes that he is no longer the head of the state, maybe we can see a different opinion. He is a businessman after all.

I am not sure that he knows a lot about cryptocurrencies, but I can guess that he holds Bitcoin. As they say, Libra can negatively affect BTC, Trump is voting against this new stable coin by Facebook.

POTUS I don't know him.
POTUS doesn't know where it comes from.
POTUS is a weird name in the cryptocurrency world.

I better stay away from him so as not to be affected by Donald Trump's babbling.
Because everyone knows that this Donald Trump has a very shaky stance. Bad !

If such an opinion was already the former US President Trump, then the past events of almost two years ago found in general confirmation of his words. Zuckerberg's intention to issue his stablecoin Libra in 2019, backed by various currencies of states and securities, came across a tough negative position of the governments of various states, including the United States and the European Union, and therefore this project was practically destroyed by them. As a result, this month we will be able to see the release of a stablecoin called Diem, which will only be backed by the dollar. The circulation of this coin will still remain under the gun of regulators.
