This is very surprising news that dogecoin now overtaken polkadot!! No one expected this 3 months ago but dogecoin doing this & this is happened due to elon musk. Elon promote dog as much as possible by social media, as a result dogecoin placed the rank of #7 & overtaken polkadot.

I think it may be about the support from Elon Musk or its big whales to take advantage by increasing the price quickly. However, it is cool to see the meme coin like Dogecoin to be favorite coin nowadays.

Dogecoin and Polkadot both are good coin in cryptocurrency market. Though both are good but I think Polkadot is much better and stronger than Dogecoin. I personally think that if Elon Musk don't support Dogecoin, it can't surpass Polkadot easily. For this situation, I think all credits goes to Elon Musk.

Exactly, this is the main Fact to surpass Polkadot. When Elon musk supported Dogecoin then dog flying looks like a rocket. So all credit goes to Elon musk, otherwise its not possible.

Doge coin in crazy mode it will dump but Polkadot is strong project it will cross eth in future I buy at 13$ since holding my coin I will sell them at 100$ it will touch in 1 month for that if you don't have polkadot buy some coin hold them will give you 10x in future strong project hold it.

The reason why the price of DoGe coin suddenly pumped up so much is because of posting about Elon Musk's doge. Since Elon Musk supported the doge coin the price has risen like a bull race now but again it has come down a lot. I think doge coin and polkadot are very good quality coins in cryptocurrency. I think nothing to worry about Polkadot as it has own power with own blockchain but if you compare with Dogecoin, its very shame because Dogecoin only powered by Elon mask and nothing special here. So i think this pump of Dogecoin will not last long where DOT will run in its own way. So those who are panic in price of DOT, nothing to upset just keep patience and be a gainer in near future.

Doge coin is a bubble by Elon Musk. When he will announce like Bitcoin, it will blast. We should stay away form such Meme coin. I can remember, 4 years ago, 10k Doge was around $5 and i ruined for cheap rate. Now i could be millionaire (local currency). DOT is not for short time, Dot will follow BNB. Solana and Polkadot will follow parallel way from now.

Yes, this is because of the power of Elon Musk that really makes Doge able to pump so highly to the moon. This is just a meme coin and it is for short term. It is not nearby of DOT at all. This is just a bubble made by elon musk the crypto manipulator. This bubble is going to burst soon. It's really good for DOGE coins to be able to overtake Polkadot because the dominance of Polkadot can really compete with Chainlink, Polygon Matic.
The point is that when there are many coins capable of creating Smart contracts, there must be a main coin that must be able to compete against Smart Contracts, namely Doge Coin.
DOGE is not designed to be created by Smart contracts, but DOGE is just for fun.

Dogecoin has supported by Elon musk and big investors at there.

Comparing Doge to Polkadot is like comparing John McAfee to a healthy and intelligent person. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other, its technology, its development or its use cases are totally different. Doge doesn't have any of those things, he just has Elon Musk and his army, otherwise, Doge would be where he has been for the past few years.

I am not fond of a meme coin like Dogecoin. It's temporary dominance but Polkadot is the long term project like Ethereum and BNB. The comparison will be for long run, not for shitcoins. I still haven't found any real utility of Dogecoin but Elon Musk- a whale promoted for his personal interest to take profits, not good for small investors.

Actually Dogecoin is elon musk supported coin. So this is big issue, otherwise we can't see dogcoin in top 10 list.Elon musk is One of the richest person in the world, and he tweeted continue about dogecoin. As a result dogcoin pumped..but i think polkadot have more potential than dogecoin.

Dogecoin is more popular than DOT, I think that normal.
Doge coin has been supported by famous person and big Investors.
Doge is number # 6 and polkadot is number #9.

I think we should think about how the market can get to this, Polkadot, a platform with numerous use cases is overtaken by a meme that is useless. And all "thanks" to a billionaire with a lot of free time and an army of fans who I doubt can think for themselves. It's sad and a shame, considering how many good projects are on the market right now.

Current dogecoin rank is number #8 and polkadot is number #9.
I think they are the best competitor and so close.

No, dogecoin is number 9 and polkadot rank is 8 on CMC.
But I think both are the best competitor.
I see both are very potential, But I personally prefer in polkadot than doge. I think doge is just FOMO

Doge is indeed very strong and this DOGE is very capable of continuing to be on the right track that can shift Polkadot and now Polkadot feels alienated because of DOGE's presence.
But this is still a reasonable stage because the turnover of cryptocurrencies is always changing and this doesn't surprise me, changes like this are already commonplace in cryptocurrencies.

DOGE coins are like coins that are designed to be forced to go up and of course DOGE coins are also very good to hold for a certain period of time which can prove the price can go up, as is the case when the Bitcoin Halving occurs or a few months after the Bitcoin Halving.
And now DOGE coin is back down again and Cardano is in the top two places in the Coinmarketcap rankings and I'm also sure if a strong community for DOGE can rise again in value in the future.

Dogecoin hasn't good project.
Polkadot team has improved their project and I think This coins will have good future, So I didn't believe dogecoin will overtake polkadot.

Polkadot is multichain network, meaning it can process many transactions on several chains in parallel. Dogecoin is a meme coin created like a joke, built on the Bitcoin networks. There are huge usercases of polkadot platform unlike the dogecoin, it is a meme coin use for tipping on certain community of users.
Currently, dogecoin has large community of supporters and this help to boost it's price, while plkadot can boast of a good community with excellent usercases that has also promoted the coin.
I think that coinmarketcap ranking is not a constant position, any good projects can spring up a surprise to becoming a top coin/token at any time.

I have been holding and accumulating dot for a while now and I can not see happening That Dot will further go down. Although it would be nice, after the all time high I think we will be lucky to see it go to the all time high again let alone $30 but Dot will be king in 2022.

Polkadot brings more value to the crypto ecosystem and we can completely believe that Polkadot is the biggest competitor of Ethereum currently in terms of market cap. Totally true what you say. People hoping for Doge to hit $5 or $10 just want to make some quick cash and don't care about anything else. They don't know (or don't want to know) that a quality product like Polkadot needs continuous development to keep improving it. Doge has shown numerous times that is just a pump and dump toy with a very rich man pulling the strings while people don't stop to think for themselves, that's when reality hits them.

If you look at the date, you will see that the OP wrote this thread in April 2021, and at that time Doge had surpassed Polkadot in market capitalization. Everyone knew (except those blinded by fast money) that Doge was going to last a very short time above Polkadot. And I think Doge will continue in that position for a long time, as Elon Musk seems to be keeping quiet about Doge right now to avoid potential legal trouble, as many people sadly take his words as financial advice.

For this reason I am actually surprised that Dogecoin outperformed Polkadot Coin. Due to being Elon Musk's coin, this coin has received a huge amount of publicity. As a result, it has overtaken Polkadot Coin and currently stands at 10 in the cryptocurrency. I think Dogecoin will gain a good amount of popularity in the future and its value will increase significantly compared to other coins.
