Shouldn't we choose tokens that are not yet trending, and hold when the trending arrives? Logically, if the token is trending now, there is a big possibility that its bullish period will soon come to an end... and after that there will be a moment of correction or even bearishness. So investing in tokens that are already popular or trending will likely only increase investment risk, because it's too late to catch the moment.
You have a point, but I will choose with trending tokens than those trends are over. Most altcoins rely only on the movement of Bitcoin, therefore whatever the trend of Bitcoin is, altcoins will follow. Now, if you pick currencies that have already completed their bullish trend, it will be tough for him to break the previous high since there are so many sellers above; but, if you choose trending currencies, there is no obvious resistance to break. So trending coins have a higher potential reward than non-trending currencies.
Agree, there are no altcoins or rarely altcoins can move because of the reputation and community that has been built to be able to move itself, but mostly because of the influence of bitcoin, so they can move up or down.
I think there's no harm in sticking with altcoins that are trending because we can do something when the trend ends, but taking ones that are not trending will, of course, carry risks that we can't know about in the future.
Avoiding resistance that will occur is also always thought about because it cannot be avoided if it is not thought about, so choosing what is best at that time is the right step to take.
