Title: Bitcoin Cash ABC sub-section
Post by: Zed0X on December 04, 2020, 10:12:59 AM
Bumping this post in light of the recent split in BCH.

I understand that Bitcoin Cash ABC is not officially a fork from Bitcoin but it can be considered as a grandchild. So does this new coin deserve it's own board under "Bitcoin Forks"? It can also be as a Bitcoin Cash childboard.

I don't think BCHABC needs a child board here under BCH, the coin doesn't even list on CMC or coinpaprika despite trading and existing.

Coinmarketcap has it already.

Coingecko, which I think is more reliable than Coinmarketcap or Coinpaprika, has it too.

Yes I agree with you. I don't think a new child board is needed under Bitcoin Fork at the moment.

Hello guys, I'm directly in touch with the BCH community, I've even made live speeches and meetups here in my country, so let me give my opinion(and the community about it)
BCHA doesn't need a new section. The BCH community was disapproving this fork, likely 95% of the users and miner of BCH was against that, BCHA is being attacked, the transaction takes up to 1 week to get confirmation, I don't think we need a new section just for that(for now). let people discuss it on the existing BCH board.
the history behind BCHA is that devs of BCH ABC(one of the devs of the fork of btc to bch) wants to apply a dev fee of up to 8% on the new blocks, they claim they need it for development, but this was totally inaccurate, the BCH community funded a lot of development initiatives, without dev fund.

Our opinions are probably affected by our own experience in crypto but what if we take this from a newbie perspective?

Wouldn't it be much better if, as early as now, they can already distinguish that BCH and BCHA are two different coins? I'm thinking the childboard with a pinned topic explaining the basic difference of the two chains. We also have to take into account that they are both traded on exchanges now and a newbie who isn't aware can mistakenly buy BCH instead of BCHA or vice versa.

I still read some beginners buying BCH thinking they are buying bitcoin (BTC). This could happen also to the two BCH as I already said above.

Anyway, your call.
