How did you ready your portfolio for the next bull run
« on: April 04, 2024, 11:06:41 PM »
I know that most people might have put their 100% in just BTC. This is not bad at all and I know the very good reason why some might do so. But then, if we are to be honest with ourselves, we are partly here in crypto to make money. So we got to stick it but in a controlled risk way..

I don't know if this will help but I think diversifying your portfolio will help a lot in earning in crypto. In BTC, ETH, Exchange token, Layer 1, AI's etc..

In my 100% portfolio, I stored
30% in BTC

10% In ETH

20% In BGB (most of you might have come across this coin, its an exchange token just as BNB. We all know how BNB started and came to an ATH, I bet this one to follow in the footsteps of vetting a good hike)

10% in ICP (Y'all should know about this coin. Very underrated. The moment this project finally gets to the right investors you will see its full potential. A very good use case it has)

10% in RUNE

10% in ARB and NEAR

And I left the remaining 10% in USDT for any opportunity to buy a coin that will give me short term profit

30% BTC
10% KAS
10% ETH
10% BNB
20% SOL
10% FLOKI
10% PEPE

Yes, it does have some meme coins but these are actually that i do see that the projects will be flying in bull run.
There's no one could be able to tell though on which one but at least having those preparation could give out at least some chance for you to be able
to gain profit but of course there would really be no assurance and we do know that each person does have their own picks.  :)

Well, that's your opinion, and it seems that's what your portfolio already looks like, but I don't do alt coins. I prefer Bitcoin, about 80% of my crypto asset is in BTC, while I hold 15% in USDT so that I can buy more Bitcoin when the dip is strong, and then 5% in some random old coin.

I got advice from a friend who's also a crypto enthusiast; he advised me to buy some altcoins with hope he had that so many altcoins are going to become profitable this season, but the question is, which altcoins will be so profitable this season? Currently, there are hips surrounding so many coins, but the fact remains that not all of those coins can pump as predicted, and therefore, I just prefer to stay clear and be on the safer side. If I want to invest in alt coins now, it should be primarily in old, established coins like ETH, BNB, and their likes.

If it is the entire portfolio, then I am sure that around 30% of my assets will achieve significant growth. Around 20% will experience an increase, but that's only natural. And the rest, I've given up, because they are shit coins and shit tokens that I'm not sure whether they can still survive or not. This is quite sad, because in the old bull era, I bought several tokens that I thought were worth it, but it turned out I was wrong, very wrong, and in the end they were just like trash in my wallet. There are even many who have been delisted from exchanges.  ;D
This teaches me so much.

95% BTC
5% BNB
And the reserve in stable coin waiting for a recommendation to invest. But I am always fearful when it comes to altcoins investment. I am a great confidence in bitcoin and that is why I almost went in all bitcoin. I have heard a divided mind about altcoins but I am currently seeking ways to mend it.

Diversifying your portfolio is very important, but it depends on the assets you want to diversify into. In my honest opinion, i think diversification is when you buy BTC and i.e. gold or real estate. BTC and altcoins are linked to one another, and the price of altcoins move when BTC price moves, so it may not be best for diversification.

I haven't really checked the percentage too deeply but I'm very sure that in my portfolio I'm holding Bitcoin which is 90% of my portfolio and a few altcoins that are rest of 10% of my portfolio.

I often keep some amount in USDT because I'm a trader but other than that my main investments are in Bitcoin and a few well know altcoins.

I also have some holdings in a low quality altcoins but I'm holding the profits only because I have already recovered my initial investment with that coin.

You can't compare crypto diversification with real world asset. It's true that other coins move when BTC moves but sometimes, they do move in their own accord whether BTC moves or not.

Ok, from the list of coins I mentioned above, I remembered buying BGB at 0.5 then I don't know how it will be since an exchange token. From that amount I bought it, it rose to 1.3 having 5 consecutive ATH.

Mind you, there were times BTC was falling but regardless the coin kept going up. This is also applicable to other alts. Remember Sol push similar thing from $14 to 170 not minding BTC's movement

Hmm, not a bad choice. I don't know why of recent I just kept trading aside and focused more on investment. At least my BTC savings is already giving me a nice return and yea, I still kept my 10% of Usdt on buying and selling new coins especially those that gets listed due to the hype that comes with it. Like Omni, and few others I bought in recent times

That 10% you are keeping for buying and selling of new coins is a type of risk that you're taking to have good rewards. During the bull run such type of risks often give good rewards but during bear market it's not recommended at all.

I have invested some money in similar way and I had to hold the coins for many months because they got dipped a lot because of the bear market. After that I gave up on that idea but I think I may take some risks in this bull run to see how it goes.
