Crypto is not the future, it is the present

We often compare crypto to Internet, and believe that with growing acceptance, crypto is the inevitable future. However, I remember that in the past people also said that "Internet is the future", meaning that in the future, using internet is inevitable. I think Internet became really popular in 2000s^[1], and services on the internet started to become popular like texting or searching for news. At that time, we knew that "Internet is the present"!

A few years ago, especially since 2017, we were saying that “Crypto is the future”. Now, dozens of companies accept BTC payments^[2], large companies store BTC, investment funds have BTC Spot ETF products, governments store BTC^[3], BTC is accepted officially received in El Salvador^[4]… All this is even bigger than what happened with Internet in 2000s.

So I think, we should ignore the concept of "Crypto is the future", we should say that "Crypto is the present".

And you, what do you think, please share your views:

Crypto for future is one of hopes
Crypto for present is what we are doing right now and what we are preparing for the future.

We definitely understand how the crypto world has developed so far, especially sharing things related to Bitcoin. We already know how Bitcoin was in the past and how Bitcoin is today as well as our various predictions and hopes for Bitcoin in the future.

 It is natural that we should think about the crypto that we currently own or live as part of the future. The group is something that can still continue to develop and what we determine at this time is the stage of the process of what will exist in the future. So it will depend on us whether we believe in crypto or not and how we apply that belief to cryptocurrency.

Not yet, we are still on cryptocurrency's early stage. We are still far from that.

You think crypto is the future, or crypto is the present?

For me it is the same because I am currently into crypto and could possibly be still into crypto in the future.

If crypto is the future, when will that future come?

No one knows when but as long as technological advancements evolve to a much more futuristic approach we've seen on scifi movies then I think that is it. Crypto adoption needs to be like 80%-90% worldwide to attain that  level.

You have just generalized the term but did not get the true meaning mate..

When we say it is the future meaning this moves up to the future , it is the running position mate and not just for a certain time or period.

Yeah Bitcoin maybe the present but also this is the future , so lets not make this an issue instead we are all here to support bitcoin to make it to the future.

When we say something is the future, it doesn't mean that it is not existing in the present but rather it means that it's potential is yet to be harnessed. Which means there's more to that project in the future than the present.

Even the internet is still for the future. Years ago who would have thought about web3 but today, it is here and more things will definitely emanate from it in the future. So, cryptocurrency is the future.

In my opinion, if crypto is not the future then what I am doing today is no differences in the other stuff that we used to do for a living. If people who joined in the crypto world think that it's not future then sooner they will get out of crypto. Future is the reason why today we keep on grinding because it's motivate us to do hard things. Future is what we aim for that's why we all are here in crypto accumulating coins and tokens, manifesting price to increase multiple times. If people don't see crypto as our future, then probably crypto will not interest them.

Maybe we can say that crypto is present because, in my few years in this business field, I have seen that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency has helped a lot of people around the world. I am one of those who have been helped because it is one of my main sources of income at the moment, and I have been able to invest the assets that I have made because of doing crypto trading.

So, cryptocurrency, or Bitcoin, is becoming even more popular, especially now and in the future, because of the potential that cryptocurrency has, which of course still needs to be researched so as not to make a mistake in which crypto to choose. So we are done with the idea that crypto is the future because it is currently being taken advantage of by communities because crypto helps them for good or bad reasons.

1. I don't think crypto has become a reality, because we still cannot use crypto comfortably in the economy. Paying with crypto can lead to the risk of imprisonment.
2. Crypto should continue to be the future, a potential market and can generate great profits from belief in the value of blockchain technology.
3. I think we will need another 5-10 years to see crypto become an indispensable part of life, as Internet right now!

If it is true, why you invest in crypto?
When we invest in crypto, it means we believe our future on the crypto coins.
You mustn't choose Bitcoin if you don't believe in Bitcoin future, right?

I can agree that no certainty about future. But we must believe in the future of crypto if we invest in crypto coins. It is not, we just gamble our future with crypto.

I wouldn't say that crypto is the present because we are still on the adoption stage and so many people have not gotten to the crypto space yet. Why I say that crypto is the future because let's use bitcoin as an example, some countries are yet to accept crypto as legal and some people don't even want to buy the idea of crypto because it is still new and strange to them. If I am investing in bitcoin to hodli for a long term for profit. It is in the future that I will reap my profit from my investment. Old people are sceptical about accepting crypto, and as time passes, these old ones too will pass away and the new generation will be left to deal with crypto as they like because crypto is mainly for the youth. In the future we will have high rate of adoption compare to now. Imagine then that the internet just came out, a lot of people can do without it. But as time passes by the internet became something that is as important like our basic needs, because there are many opportunities on the internet to make money these days. So this is how gradually crypto will become part of the world with time and everyone will have interest in it. This is because there is a say that 'if you cannot beat them, you join them.

Crypto is the present and the future. It is even the past.  In my case 2012 to now 2024 and hopefully for the rest of my life plus 100 more year after that.

Many people have been in crypto for more than 10 years a lot of us. In the thousands.

Agree, my friend. Crypto is not only about the present but it is also about the past and future. We can gain money now because we learn from our mistakes in the past. And we invest in crypto now is for our future. So, crypto can't be a part from the past and future.

Sure, we must take a research to by some coins that we are holding now. It is impossible if we can have some potential coins without a research. Although we don't know the future of the coins but we believe with their potential. We can determine it from some criteria, right?
