I don't think it is even a debate if it is good or not. Many wanted to go for decentralized exchanges for a long time but because of the lack liquidity/volume, they're forced to stick with centralized exchanges. The fact that even CEX are also developing their own DEX says a lot already. DEX is the future.

The idea of a decentralized exchange is very interesting,but in practice these exchanges do not provide a normal number of coins, their liquidity and the exchanges themselves quite slow.
I think in the future there will be hybrid exchanges that will combine the advantages of centralized and decentralized exchanges.

I also don't think it's a debate, decentralized exchanges are superior to centralized exchanges, even if there are still issues (mainly liquidity). Once liquidity is integrated into these DEX's (from centralized exchanges), and user bases increase, exchanges will gradually "upgrade" to more decentralized models imo.

Decentralized exchange concept is really great but we are still far away from a 100% safe real decentralized exchange, for example, just a couple of months ago there was a bug with one of the popular decentralized exchange that led to a loss of a lot of money, we still need more time.

Its good since its decentralized you are in control with your funds, But the Bad thing for me is the poor volume performance I think if the Volume of a DEX was improve its more far better that Centralized One.

Here's the thing:
Traders don't go to DEX's because of the lack of liquidity but in order to increase its liquidity, more traders must use these DEX's.
There's no doubt that many traders prefer decentralized exchanges if only transaction speed will be improved and more trading pairs will be added.

Cryptocurrency needs decentralizaion 100%. It makes no sense with centralized crypto. I just think the system needs a bit inmprovement yet.

Maybe many of us want the Binance, Bittex and HitBTC exchanges for new tokens to have high prices on the market, but I prefer decentralized exchanges that are easier to use for crypto trading, transparency makes me prefer trading there, because I can controlling all my assets safely, easily and quickly when withdrawing crypto assets

Yes decentralized exchanges are good.
There are some good ones .
The only challenge being that the daily volume on those exchanges is far from being encouraging.
Nevertheless, there's still need for improvement in order to accommodate the demand of traders.

I think that decentralized exchanges are good. But the future is, on chain, atomic swaps. There are on;y 4 coins that support atomic swaps. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Verge and Decred. There are innovations coming up, that plan to bring atomic swaps between any blockchain. Crypto space, is full of creativity and innovation.

In my opinion, CEX is very user-friendly and easy to use systems comparing to Dex. I am sure more advancements will happen in DEX to make it fly high.

All of them discuss that Decentralization is into profitable businesses.
But let's think that the Decentralized Exchange is very dangerous, because of the lack of security.
For example : ForkDelta and IDEX that store our Private Key to trade on that platform.
If ForkDelta and IDEX are hacked, I'm sure our Private Key can also be hacked.

I also think that the decentralized exchange is very good, because there is openness between the two parties, and I think it is also very useful and can be done anytime and anywhere as long as there is an internet network.

The next step, that makes exchanges obsolete, is the atomic swap. Now it is applicable only to similar blockchains, but I think that evolution, will make them available to more blockchains. We have technology going on. Have fun!

Every exchange has a different trading volume, I like the decentralized exchange with good trading volumes like IDEX, now Binance also started their decentralized exchange but I haven't tried it, the security level of trading on the DEX exchange makes me comfortable because we can control all crypto assets we have easily

For now, decentralized exchange is not good to trade in, because it lacks volume, but the good news is binance is launching their DEX which makes a opportunity for DEX to be used by the traders we just wait for the result.

Yes decentralized is the best choice of exchange to avoid hackers to still funds. If the exchange can build a truly decentralized exchange and I'm sure that many news about hacked exchanges will vanish.

this depends on your choice. I really don't like decentralized exchange but I use them sometimes for most transactions so it's kinda good

Decentralized exchanges are good of course, decentralization what Satoshi Nakamoto wants and it is the real essence of cryptocurrency, this is a pure p2p transaction. What makes it loveable is there is no need for registration or any info to be given like centralized exchange for you to be able to use it.

this depends on your choice. I really don't like decentralized exchange but I use them sometimes for most transactions so it's kinda good
can you also give a reason why you don't like dex,
because this can be an insight for others who don't really understand dex,
because most of what I know is good dex is safe from hackers because we don't send and save funds to exchange directly.

Not sure, there is a time etherdelta was hacked and many traders were been directed to a phising site and made dex untrusted. Centralized or dex both can still be proned with hackers. But on my experienced I always prefer centralIzed exchanges as volume is much higher.

The decentralized exchange in my opinion is quite good. The most important thing from both parties is the fellow crypto players who also understand each other about the crypto world itself. This is outside the authority of the local government.

Both decentralized and centralized exchange have their positive and negative sides, Personally, I don't matter with the decentralized exchanges because it also gives us easiness in having activities on it. It becomes easier and simpler for trading and also having more coins although sometimes it includes high risks. Just be careful.

it is good for the hacking issue however right now they are not that important as they have to be.

I think it this depends on the type of DEX though, and how decentralized it is. While a pure peer-to-peer software-based exchange is the most secure to use for trading, many DEX's such as IDEX and Ether/ForkDelta use centralized smart contracts that are still vulnerable to hacking (https://news.bitcoin.com/one-week-etherdelta-hack-funds-still-stolen/). Mainly because there is a still a "single point of failure". Similar to Binance and the rest; centralized DEXs may be safer their centralized components are still vulnerable.

A decentralized exchange is also good, I see it on Idex. The exchange can be quite popular and there are many investors there. But I think centralized exchange like Binance is still better than decentralized exchanges.

Crypto bridge - it's almost homeland for masternode coins, Forkdelta - you can sell any erc-20 token (if it don't locked ofc), and ..... Waves dex, why? Because you can create waves token, and it will be like stock, you can send any listed currency (even btc, eth...) for your selfcreated token owner, like dividents.

Dex exchanges are not perfect but they are for sure better in many ways then centralised exchanges.
