Title: People changing cryptocurrency?
Post by: Jaguar on September 02, 2020, 07:04:25 PM
I think people changing cryptocurrency.
In my opinion, cryptocurrency was originally designed as anonymous decentralized digital or virtual currency. However, I have notice that there are centralized and stable cryptos. Some team(people) decided to implement KYC(Know Your Costumer) which is good but somehow become a threat to our personal identity privacy.
Do you think cryptocurrency changing us or we are changing cryptocurrency?

That has nothing to do with someone's desire, it is being added due to requirement by regulators and governments worldwide. So to survive in the market cryptos had to follow the instructions from governments and regulators otherwise they can take action against these coins or ban them.

If look at the basis of crypto is decentralization, there is no need for KYC, so I say crypto has developed from time to time so people also understand to avoid money laundering and government regulations. who need to do KYC when crypto to fiat withdrawals.

Quite confuse with your statement. KYC is personal decision, if you dont want your details to give then dont. There are plenty of ways on how you can hide yourself from this. Some projects and exchange using KYC for protection purposes but that isnt mean they are gonna screw up your files. I know its bit sensitive but it will always depend on you.

According to the FATF decision, which came into force in June this year and is mandatory for more than 200 states, KYC is carried out only for the purpose of preventing money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism. Transactions over one thousand euros become monitored by states. Therefore, all transactions less than one thousand euros cannot be subject to KYC verification.

I think both are correct. We are changing crypto-currency policy and crypto-currency is also changing ourselves. First people don't know about crypto and there by they were reluctant to accept it. Now crypto-currency has occupied a larger part of the world and this area is expanding day by day. It has changed our mind, our thinking, our works and also our transaction in different ways. Besides, to accept it, different countries are changing different crypto policies where we are changing crypto.

Everything is in constant motion and development. Of course, people come up with new uses for cryptocurrency and it is changing. At the same time, we are gaining relevant experience and practice, so we are changing too. The main thing is that we do not even know where the development of cryptocurrency can lead and how much it can change in the future.

But in essence, this cryptocurrency was created as an anonymous digital currency. I don't know that in the future, all of them will require Identity for ownership of Cryptocurrency coins.

The decentralized cryptocurrency has an open source code, so everyone can create their own cryptocurrency and change it, add new useful features. Therefore, of course, the cryptocurrency is changing and undergoing changes very quickly. Moreover, according to the laws of the market, only a cryptocurrency with useful changes that will interest investors can remain in this market.

The passing of KYC to centralized exchanges I think is normal because they belong to the regulatory business under the lower branch of the government of a country. You wonder if a decentralized platform will provide KYC requirements to its users. And So to this day the crypto enthusiasts in this industry still remain anonymous as far as I know. There is also an exchange that I am using now that I have been using for several years and have also passed KYC so far so good in the times I have been experiencing here.

The KYC(Know Your Customer) system is added for the security of our funds and assets. It is added to avoid fradualent. Many people fraud using wrong information to avoid it companies ask for KYC. and the KYC system is mostly on centralized platforms it is not asked on a decentralized platform.

I don't think people change crypto, people only use crypto for their own purposes. Basically, Satoshi made Bitcoin as a digital currency but people made it as a digital asset/investment. However, it doesn't mean people change it, people only use it with a different purpose. By the way, for new altcoins, people have improved many things for their fundamentals, it may be a bit different with Bitcoin. But once again, I think it doesn't mean people change it, people only improve it!!

If we talk about people that have multiple views, anonymous is only a subset of what people want. Some want anonymous, some want pseudonymous, and some don't care about these things. It's not that people changing crypto but more of the government/law started to take action and these pro-anonymous people are losing.

I'm more aligned with Bitcoin's pseudonymous nature than Monero et al. anonymous system simply because historically, anonymous system always lose, thus not feasible without a big change in the government.

We can’t say one is changing the other. The truth is that both are having a great influence on each other. Crypto has been a boon for people and these days it’s even getting better. People are using crypto in even daily life activities and I’m glad that a lot of shops, malls, clinics, and gas stations have started accepting crypto as payments. This technology is making our lives simpler and easier.

We enter the market, the market changes us and we change the market. Potential tokens attract investors' attention, and investor participation also makes those tokens popular and grow in price. Investors create selectivity for projects, although market makers are the real masters of this financial game.

Why don't you call it an innovation? Having more types of crypto aren't bad signs, right? It shows us that crypto is developing and has varied concepts and utility. So, creating centralized coins and stable coins doesn't mean changing crypto world, it is a form of development in crypto. People always have a new idea to improve or develop something, it is also done in crypto. Because of these matters, I disagree if you call it as changing crypto.

KYC is required for trading and IEO in every crypto CEX exchange, currently Launchpad platforms like Pinksale are doing token sales without KYC, but the project team has to do that so investors don't get scammed, lots of successful anonymous projects like Bitcoin, transactions with privacy coins like Monero , this is a choice and everyone can choose the coin they want, because in general projects are made to provide convenience in making transactions, until now there are still many people who use Coins only for investment and not for transactions.

I think crypto was designed to do payment anonymous without any identity leak, but people's demands are changing and which is encouraging many changes in the crypto environment which may not be good for the term crypto in the long run, like the government wants all the data of the exchange who is sending how much crypto and charging taxes on it, which somewhere questions anonymity of the term crypto, as these government agencies can easily track any person and get complete data from exchanges as people have to go through KYC procedure which is mandatory and cannot be skipped by anyone.

First, we know that cryptocurrency is created by humans. If we can, we have hope and the opportunity to earn money online. In short, cryptocurrency is an instrument that can help us change our lives if we use our understanding of it correctly.

Now, if anyone wants to have KYC among crypto users, it is probably to prevent our assets from being stolen by exploitative people such as hackers and others.

Also, I don't see anything wrong with KYC, as long as our assets will be safe, it's okay with me as long as it's on legitimate exchanges that know if they can help me, why not, and that's fine with me either.

You are slightly mistaken. The use of KYC in cryptocurrency is regulated by the recommendations of the FATF interstate task force, which are mandatory for their implementation by more than a hundred states. So, according to the FATF recommendation of June 19, 2019, KYC can be used to combat money laundering and combat the financing of terrorism, provided that the transaction is over one thousand euros.
KYC cannot be applied to bounty campaigners as they do a certain job without investing their own money.
