Title: Stop-loss - only in Futures?
Post by: Henri9009 on May 01, 2022, 03:53:09 PM
Hi all!

I personally trade, but not in crypto so far.

A friend of mine asked me: are there stop-losses in crypto? After a search on the Web, I realize that we can use a stop-loss in Futures.

But for someone who is not a professional trader, and who would like to buy some crypto with a stop loss, is it possible? Does it exist?

Thanks!  :)

It is very possible. You will get Trading "STOP LOSS" options on several CEX exchanges. Join Binance, Kucoin, Coinbase tce exchanges to enjoy this options. Stop-loss orders also help insulate your decision-making from emotional influences, and the most important benefit of a stop-loss order is that it costs nothing to implement. Thank you

Stop-loss can be used on the spot market too. But I do not like to use it because the crypto market is very uncertain and you do not know if it will continue downward after hitting your stop-loss. You will see many times your stop loss has been hit and then the market goes up. It is very common so I do not use stop loss in the spot market but it can be good in the future and could save you from being liquidated.

Well, according to your statement, I think there are a lot of exchange site platform now that has a tools of "Stop loss" just like in Binance, Houbi, kucoin, and etc. I just don't know in the DEX platform if they have that, but I never try it yet to trade in the future trading.

Crypto Market is very volatile. Sometime an experience person put Stoploss but it's not work and market recover after hitting Stoploss. Many time I see that after hitting Stoploss coin again jump upward and sometimes 2x from that point. It's not working well in spot if anybody looking for long term. For short term I think it's good choice.

When you trade future, it is very advisable to use the stop loss to avoid lossing your account when a trade didn't go to your way. When you are trading spot, you can decide to invest in a particular project for sometime before you sell when the price increase. You can set a target you will like to sell and when the price get to the target, the trade will deliver.

Exchange offers different type of trading futures and bot to help traders. Stop lose can be used in various ways, but the most effective way in my opinion is to use it in future trading where the chance of you liquidation is very high. But you can use it in spot trading also I think. Exchange offers other bot beside this too.

All top CEXs (Centralized Exchanges) in crypto have a stop-loss feature, you can use it not only in the Future market but it exists in the Spot market as well. If you are a really active trader, you can use this feature to avoid the possibility of big losses. But if you are an active trader that almost visits the exchanges each hour, you don't need this feature. I personally never used it because I almost access the exchange each day.

Stop loss is being used only if you want to limit your loss. Actually, this features was being used as a tools in Binance, Houbi, Kucoin and other exchange in the cryptocurrency. Meaning, this stop loss is not only apply in the futures I think correct me if I am wrong to my understanding. Because I had been doing trade in the cryptocurrency while not using stop loss methods.

My opinion very trade using stop loss like spot, margin, Futures  trading. The one and only best trading coin always be bitcoin which is the king of all crypto currency coins. I hope you get good profit if you trade in bitcoin. Its  price fluctuates very much and that's the reason we can earn money from this fluctuation.

stop loss does function for those traders who trade futures to overcome losses that may be caused when you are not monitoring the conditions of the exchange so that function will be very helpful for futures traders. if there is no it then it will be difficult to keep managing the assets owned.

So far, with the stop loss feature, this can provide many advantages because it can control losses when you can't see the conditions of the exchange, so that it will make your losses smaller and you won't get liquid letters.

Stop loss can be done in any trade, not only in futures trading. In spot trading we can also easily do that, but don't do stop losses too often because it can make us really lose.

stop loss is indeed very useful for futures trading and only in that way future traders can be a little safer to trade because when you lose or take the wrong position and you are not monitoring it then stop loss can help you to automatically close the trade you opened in futures.

Not just in futures mate, but also in copy trading as I have personally experienced it myself. However, I am not doing futures trading despite that I am having some little experience on it. We can easily get our funds liquidated if we're not knowledgeable enough about the charts, situations and risk management. This is why managing our stop losses are very important for our funds to reduce our losses as much as possible.

Of course it does exist OP. Infact the majority of cryptocurrency exchanges you will find out there supports this feature and many more related kinds of features that cut across their different kinds of market. Are you talking about Spot, Margin or Futures? They all have support for this features in many of the centralized exchanges.

There are some exchanges that activate the stop-loss feature, and there are others that do not use this function. Binance is the world's number one exchange and uses a stop-loss feature. Maybe you can give it a try if you are interested in trading using stop-losses. However, there is a certain weakness in this feature, you can't use a long-distance buy or sell order.

Stop loss is nowadays a basic function that is included in every small or big exchanges and is applicable not in crypto but also in other markets such as stocks and forex etc, stop losses are essential in not only futures trading but also in spot trading, which helps you exit your position safely without losing much of your capital if market opposes you.

You will know what you are doing to trade in the future and in future, you will use stop loss to help you manage your risk. If you are not a professional I will advise you to use the spot to trade and make sure you invest in a good project when there are significant corrections in the market and don't be too greed to take profits after some time when the market starts going in your favour.

Actually, the use of stop loss or cut loss is available not only in the Future market but also in the spot market. This will depend on what strategy you are using in crypto trading. Sometimes, setting an SL or CL will really help us to minimize the high loss when trading. Sometimes, it is also recommended for us especially the daily trader or short term trader, because it will stop the loss and we can use the money to do another trading pair to accumulate more profits and cover the loss.

It's possible you mean in spot trading yes you can do on any exchange before buying a asset you need to enable stop loss and take profit button usually written as SL/TP .When you enable this option you can set the price where you are satisfied to take profit and loss as well .

I believe that the main thing is to learn how to use this function correctly.  Stop loss orders allow traders to automatically sell their stock if it falls below a certain price.  They help prevent losses when the stock markets are down and also eliminate emotions in trading.

As far as I know, there is stop-loss in Futures trading. Also if a newbie comes into it, I think he'll have a hard time because it's not like spot trading in cryptocurrency. Apart from that, it will be a bit complicated for a newbie in the crypto space to understand.

It's like the opposite of spot trading, please correct me if it's wrong, even though I've been here for a few years, I'm still confused about using futures trading. So if you're going to try, find out a lot first so that the capital you're going to use isn't wasted.

It is true that future trading is very profitable when there is a stop loss feature but it should be noted that not all stop losses are profitable because sometimes there are some movements that suddenly rise again quickly when there is good news or being played by the whales and when that happens then when the stop loss is active it will make you lose because you cannot take advantage of the price recovery process and have already closed your trade.

No The use of stop loss or cut loss is not only in the Future market. This also can be applied in the Spot market if we are short-term investors and want to make some trading, especially daily trading. Stop loss can be used on almost all exchanges, which, in principle, oppose themselves to be more or less adequate, and where there is no stop loss, you do not need to go to this exchange and even enter. So if you are a novice trader in the world of cryptocurrency, you are doing the right thing by being interested in stop loss, because it will warn you against big losses in case of a deep fall of the coin.

Sounds like an experienced Futures market trader, I wish to thoroughly understand this art of trading futures market. A number of enthusiasts have confirmed to me that it's profiting, especially in a bear dominated session!

Stop loss can only be used if you need to stop the risk and also to make sure that the amount of loss you can bear. In normal crypto trading, you can only place the trade and a take profit but not a stop loss.

Thanks!  :)

Stop Loss is a future that is applicable on the various trading feature whether on Spot, margin, and future trades, and it is most popular with many CEX exchanges out there.
