There are basic needs in life such as foods, shelter, and water. Human will live with basic needs. Okey let us take a look for wider perspective. Basic needs is important but human needs love, sex, cars, shoes, games, and etc. So in crypto we also need altcoins but we don't need garbage.

Yes the other reason we need alternative coins, bitcoin need competitors (alternative coins) in every instrument of investment the competitors is needed to make cryptocurrencies world to be more better in the future.

I believe we do need them but only a few of them that is really needed in the long term. Like zilliqa which can help eth to perform in the long term.

I agree, bitcoin could not make it without the help of the altcoin in the market. The king could only be called that way if he has a kingdoms to manage... And they bitcoin use to be. He was exist because of alt in the marketplace.

Yes, altcoins can reach for the more specific purposes. People can use it as exchange tools, a company uses them to support its community or products, and Exchanges benefit them for trading. I think there are many purposes that can be reached by altoins and cannot by bitcoin. ;D

For sure we need altcoin in the market. This are the coin that we usually trade for bitcoin. I think without alt bitcoin will not prosper also. I'm just sad that because of so many project today many alts that are good one are having difficulty to advance.

For me altcoins are very important because without altcoins there's no competition at the market. If there's competition we can have an idea to know whose coins are the best and has potential to rise high in the future. I believe altcoins makes bitcoin more stronger as the leader of all crypto currencies. Without altcoins some transaction would be hard for bitcoin because the more that the system has large of transaction it creates low performance.

Yes for now many of the users are accepting altcoin for transactions and transactions can be done between two parties if i need some work i have to pay them altcoin which they needed i have paid several times Ethereum and i need many altcoins for transaction. For investment also we need altcoin to buy for future need now the price is good but future prediction is difficult now.

right now they don't seem really useful. It is like the domains back in 90s. There were tons of empty domain however no websites to use.

nothing can work alone in this world, so does bitcoin, even though bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency for now (in 2017), bitcoin still needs other coins to do daily work, for example XVG and XRP can send quickly without having to wait long, while bitcoin has to wait hours for one transaction, what if there are hundreds of transactions at a time?

Besides we have Bitcoin. We also need Altcoin as our coin collection and reserves in the future. Seeing the coins in Altcoin are very good and potential for us to invest then I also decided to invest in Ethereum as one of Altcoin at that time. And I also bought Litecoin, EOS and Ripple as additional coins for this year.
