admin please answer this question. It might help some of us to answer in future. I usually answer that if their positive karma are more than the the negative ones, they should be okay but I don't actually know whether there will be a time when that negative karma will be deleted.

He needs one positive karma and his overall karma will be 0. It is simple math -1 + 1 = 0

If that's how the system is going to work, then it is a good idea.

But I am not sure about that. Maybe admin can write here, how it works.

If you will follow the rules, you won't be banned. Don't spam. You are quoting your threads. Don't do that.

Actually quick mafs doesn't work for 0 karma. If you're on -1 karma, +1 karma will actually put you on +1 karma.
I only know this as I by mistake clicked negative on someone and thought I could restore but there is no 0 once you've left this numberless region.
You're either - or + after that. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I found at least.

As sometimes the ban triggers when you use a banned ip, or sometimes for various server cache reasons.

information is very helpful, because there must be someone's negligence that causes such an event and I will share this

Of course, banned people have the right to ask why and this email is exactly for ban cases. The same solution as on BTT but there they don't mind to respond to this emails. I hope admin will do all he can as always to provide great support because people will create new accounts and go to war with moderators and stuff if they get their emails not answered especially when banned and left alone with no explanation at all.

I see a lot of posts there from people banned literally for nothing and nobody responds to their emails even if they paid for a special "unbanme" bitcoin address. We have to learn from their mistakes.

that's a good idea, but maybe the principles and rules of admins are different from the next forum. because according to the different admins it's the choice, the spam problem and others itself for their mistake. we just run the remove / lock task

You will need to present evidence if Judge or Admin will ask you for it.

When you get hacked first steps will be this same which is Telegram group and report.

I don't know how to prove that you are the original owner. In BTT you can add your address and verify with message in a special thread. We can do this same if we don't have anything set up for this purpose yet. I think, Admin should start a sticky topic were you can verify that you are account owner by signing a message using wallet provided in your account.

I haven't found anything about hacked account recovery on the forum.

Couldn't agree more, after reading issues with this on BTT the ONLY clear proof is the a signed message from your ETH address, providing that you have included it in your profile. Realistically as well you would need a screenshot of this address in your profile, as obviously a hacker would change/remove this knowing that this is the only way for someone to claim back their account. Email addresses, logins etc don't prove anything in the context of a hack case and in fact could be used to hack someones account, if someone has hacked someones login or email address elsewhere.

I'd therefore recommend a sticky topic regarding how to claim back your account should include taking a screenshot of your account with your ETH address included, forum posts etc again are useless as can be deleted by the hacker. How many people here have taken a screenshot as a backup already? Exactly. The only exception would be if you've received an airdrop from the forum, and therefore a transaction ID of a forum-managed airdrop can prove your address, if there a spreadsheet with your username attached to your ETH address.

Or become a Jr Spartan at minimum to get your ETH address registered to your username by a forum spreadsheet ;)

in case of a hack we check the database, we have backups done frequently, thus we check the email if it was changed.
if email is hacked as well, we can't help you.

I have slightly different case and was wondering if I ought to send PM to a judge for impartial decision/answer on why an action was taken against my account, right after I reported a user who plagiarized a post of mine, verbatim (word for word exactly)... it was right on the next page of the thread and impossible to miss if reading up on a followed thread.

Shocking to me as that was, I searched through their posts (only a few of them) and found again another post that was copied entirely from a crypto news blog.
Two additional posts also used verbatim, copied sentences for main part of post,
without quotes and citing the source; which lends credibility and backs up with research what one is posting rather than leaving it as if it is your own writing which leaves a negative connotation.

No action was taken against reported user's account, when it states this is a blatant violation of the rules for which one can even be banned or will be in the case of stealing other member's works/writing, etc. and presenting as their own.

It's been several days now. Nepotism comes to mind here, although that is not an accusation or FUD... goes against your rules which are very deliberate regarding this topic.

take the human approach,
write a reply saying that this is a copy of your post / blog
put a link
and require attribution
if user does not comply give a negative karma.

I do not know why people are always looking for escalations and drastic penalties ...
please try to have a friendly approach to things.

Would you explain what you mean when you say that "an action was taken against my account"?

What action? somebody gives you negative karma or you talking about this plagiat?

No action was taken against reported user's account, when it states this is a blatant violation of the rules for which one can even be banned or will be in the case of stealing other member's works/writing, etc. and presenting as their own.

Plagiarism is not against the AltcoinsTalks rules.

We encourage members to put links to sources or descriptions and try to have a friendly approach to things on this forum.

Just send him a PM like Admin said and you have always negative karma to punish such a member by yourself.

I'm actually disappointed that plagiarism is not against the rules on the forum (I thought it was?), as I genuinely believe that this lowers it's reputation. All someone would need to do is go to any thread and start copy pasting, building up a huge amount of (more than likely) useless posts in the process. Why would the forum admin (presumably) pull someone up on the quality of a post, but not pull someone up for copying another's 'work', it seems counter-intuitive. At the very least, quoting sources should be obligatory, and action taken if not. I realise this element creates extra pressure on the admins/moderators to maintain it, but it would (in my humble opinion) be worth it.

There are new rules about plagiarism but still if you do this then there is no ban penalty for this violation.

If this is your content you can reach to this member and ask to add source links or delete. If he still refuses then you can reach the forum staff for help.
When you found plagiated content but you are not the owner then you can contact the author and let him know about this. Only then he can ask for help with plagiarism.

I am not a fan of this rules too but there are other priorities for the forum right now and I believe our Admin decisions fully despite I don't agree with.

completely agree with you, i think plagiarism should not be condone especially when copying and pasting someone else content and making it yours, if you copy someone post to cite and example and put it in quotation mark this is different from copying post to make post count, this will only encourage more members to plagiarize all over the forum, that is why the local board are available to those who find it difficult to converse in English.
