The real estate sector with over $217 trillion in value is the largest asset class globally. There are four main segments of the real estate market; residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial properties. The residential market is predominately home and living spaces that are not professionally related. Commercial real estate relates to offices and retail spaces. Agricultural real estate is used for growing food crops. Lastly industrial real estate refers to manufacturing and production of goods. Property ownership covers the surface area of the land, the buildings on it, the vegetation growing, the minerals below the soil surface, the air above the surface, and water sources found there. These four comprise the greatest majority of land and buildings on the globe. The other type of land is infrastructural which is typically owned by governments for public use such as roads, airports.



All of these real estate investments have the same problems. Some of the headaches in property investments are liquidity, large initial investment, market fluctuations, qualifying for bank loans and mortgages, so many middlemen required to get the right information on properties, management of properties is time-consuming and requires hard work. While there are enormous benefits to real estate investment, these problems keep many people from entering the market and becoming investors.

The sheer number of people involved in nearly every real estate transaction is also daunting. First are the Realtors. There are at least two involved in most transactions. Buyers Agents help real estate investors to find properties for sale. Sellers Agents are responsible for helping to find buyers for the property, sometimes known as Listing Agents. To determine the value of the property an Appraiser is required. The Country Recorder and Auditor establish the title deed and provide information on the taxable value of the property and the real estate property taxes. A Home Inspector is required to determine the condition of all the mechanical and structural aspects of the property. Every property needs a Home Insurer to insure the asset for hazards, damages, and for the mortgage. If someone is selling a home often there is a Home Stager. The job of the Home Stager is to bring out the best in the house for showing it to potential buyers as attractively as possible.

When buying a property using a mortgage a host of other professionals get involved in the transaction. Of course, there is a Mortgage Lender from the bank unless purchasing the property in cash. There is also a Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate your loan application and the property to determine if you and the property meet the Lenders criteria. In most cases, the property will need a Licensed Surveyor to draw the geographical property lines and drawings of the structures. Also, a Title Insurer could be required to protect the buyer and lender against disputes over ownership should they arise. You might also need an Escrow Officer also known as a Loan Officer who works for the bank and acts a neutral third party to facilitate the sales, payment, document preparation, and funds disbursement.

The largest investment most people used to make was the purchase of their own home. As few as 20 years ago, the home purchase paperwork was as short as a 2-page contract! It was less complicated than most lease agreements are today. In the United States, the lure of homeownership has remained stable at around 67 percent which is about the average internationally. This has remained relatively stable internationally at 50 and 70 percent since 1960.

However, as the prices of homes increases and home equity decreases, a decrease within the next 20 years is expected from the Millennial Generation as home prices increase without the equal increase in incomes. A major factor is the availability of mortgages and real estate lending. The median price of a newly built home is now up to $335,000 in the US according to the last Census. To qualify for a mortgage in that range, the individual would need to make more than $90,000 per year leaving only 20 percent of the US population able to qualify. Investors are still investing in the market, but the percentage of homeownership is expected to drop as other investments become more attractive.

One alternative option for real estate investment is Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT). Numerous shopping malls and retail spaces are built under REITs. Also hotels, office buildings, apartment buildings, and sometimes industrial properties. Investors can buy or sell REITs shares like stocks, bonds, or other securities. REITs are now expected to own about one-third of the commercial real estate market. The 2008 Financial Crisis hit the REIT market hard and many development loans that came due in 2017 were not able to be refinanced and it led to foreclosure.

Bitcoin started to be more widely used in real estate transactions in 2017. It is believed that the first house sold purely using Bitcoin was done in the US in the State of Texas. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can do more than purchase homes and properties as whole units. Our milestones
Q3 2016 – Q4 2016: Initial Conception
A lot of new exchanges were popping up in the crypto space. In this evolving market, advanced analysis algorithms were not developed. In the beginning, single pairs on exchanges were monitored, spreads were analyzed and execution times were measured. This was done manually by inserting the relevant values into spreadsheets. The procedure lasted a long time and it was not clear if all trades could have been
executed in an appropriate time. Furthermore, enough funds were needed for exchanges and KYC procedures consumed additional time. After extensive research of “old economy” solutions and consultations from financial experts the project started with the goal to develop an automated arbitrage trading system.

Q1 2017: First Algorithm
The first step to creating an automated arbitrage system was to develop and refine a specialized algorithm in order to find profitable arbitrage opportunities, based on the data obtained from three main exchanges: GDAX, Kraken, and Bitfinex. In this
phase, the relevant parameters and theoretical mathematical formulas were defined. Furthermore, backtests were performed in order to validate the results.

Q2 2017: First Private Investors
After intensive testing of the algorithm further resources were needed to develop the product. Private investors contributed with USD 900,000 in order to hire additional software developers, information technology specialists and stock experts for algorithm, software and infrastructure development.

Q2 2017 – Q3 2017: Algorithm Improvement
The algorithm was further improved and aligned to the constantly changing market parameters in order to be as profitable as possible in all market conditions (bullish, bearish, sideways). This led to deeper analysis of asset pairs, market depth and the volatilities of these pairs under certain market conditions. As arbitrage trading is a race among other traders to outweigh inefficiencies of market prices, Arbitao put the focus on transaction times to ensure that arbitrage opportunities can be utilized before they
disappear.

Q2 2017 – Q4 2017: Arbitrage Software for Closed Group
In order to use our algorithms properly, we developed a software. This advanced piece of code calculates the profitability of trades, delegates the outcome to the internal protocol and then to nodes which are executing orders on exchanges. All APIs from major exchanges where integrated and the data was normalized and standardized to enable automated data collection from exchanges. Afterward, the automated execution of orders was implemented to ensure fast transactions. The software additionally takes the following parameters into account: spreads, fees, and volume. This is to conduct proper profitability analysis and assure reliable arbitrage opportunity signals. By the end of 2017, we had a prototype with a minimal user interface that served as a minimal viable product for beta tests. This product was already used by a closed group of private investors and successfully generated profits.

Q4 2017: Arbitrage Interface Implementation and Closed Beta
The interface was designed to enable easy access to the service for individuals, where relevant data is displayed and users are able to get a general overview of the arbitrage opportunities, investments, duration, returns, and profits. A closed beta phase was started and a diverse crowd of testers was invited. Quick feedback and rapid development cycles allowed us to make fast progress in UI development and drastically improved the user experience.

Q3 2017 – Q2 2018: Network Infrastructure
One of the main focuses of the Arbitao Team is the network infrastructure which can be defined as a competitive advantage compared to other projects. The design of the infrastructure is conceptualized to gather data from exchanges, transfer them to a normalized standard, calculate arbitrage opportunities and execute them in the shortest time. This can be guaranteed as the servers and data centers are located next to certain exchanges and are having, therefore, the least latency. These nodes are sending the information to the internal communication protocol, which is acting as a decentralized decision-making entity where the data is analyzed and sent back to the nodes in order to execute the trade.

Q2 2017 – Q4 2018: Blockchain Integration
Our blockchain technology is based on NavCoin. We forked the code and started our own testnet in Spring of 2017 under the name ATAO. Experiments with sidechains have shown that they are not useful to ATAO’s use case, which is to provide access to Arbitao’s arbitrage trading platform.

Q3 2018: ICO and Launch of Platform
We started our ICO on 15 July 2018 and successfully reached the soft cap of USD 28,000,000 by the first week of September. We gave early investors access to the automated trading platform in order to benefit immediately from the already existing services.

Q3 2018: TAOx – Internal Exchange
Although the Arbitao Team is already in negotiations with major exchanges in order to get listed, we want to guarantee our community the easiest possible way to exchange the ATAO Coin from the platform. Therefore, we are developing a highly secure exchange with very low fees for the community. This helps the project to be independent of other external parties, which will help to accelerate the growth of our business. The released will be soon, on October 2018, just as planned.

Q4 2018: Simultaneous Long-Short Strategy
Next, to the development of the internal exchange, the Arbitao Team is aligning the already existing algorithm to a new strategy where various parameters are needed to get a signal for the parallel execution of a long and short trade on different exchanges. This unique strategy was developed by monitoring the impact of arbitrage bots on certain exchanges. Through this data, it is possible to define certain scenarios in which the price will stabilize itself. In this scenario, we are executing simultaneously a short and a long trade on different exchanges and benefit of the price adjustment which are defined by lower price spreads. This is also used in futures trading.

Q4 2018 – Q4 2019: Arbitrage Chain Trading via Cloud Computing
Additionally, to arbitrage pair trading and simultaneous long-short strategy, we are also developing an arbitrage chain trading system. This means that asset pairs are traded in a chain in order to benefit from arbitrage e.g. BTC (Bitfinex) -> ETH (Bitfinex) -> ETH (Binance) -> EOS (Binance) -> BTC (Binance). For this system, additional computing power is needed to calculate the most profitable chains as the solution room surges by adding more variables to the objective functions, which increases the complexity of the system but offers a broader range of arbitrage potentials. Therefore, the Arbitao Team is working on a cloud computing feature which is integrated into the ATAOwallet. This functionality enables the community to offer computing performance which will solve the defined solution room of possible arbitrage chains in an appropriate time. Furthermore, the participants will be rewarded with ATAO Coins.

Q3 2019 – Q4 2020: Fully Decentralized Arbitrage Trading
The main goal of Arbitao is to use the ATAO Blockchain in order to execute trades in a decentralized way. This will be integrated into the ATAOwallet, where every node can set up their API connection to predefined accounts. Verified community members will have the possibility to execute trades. Moreover, Arbitao will offer the feature that community members can program their own algorithms and use the Arbitao infrastructure. All nodes with a fast internet connection and low latency times will be rewarded for executing the arbitrage trades, as this will add a high value to the network.

NOTE: New date for the ATAOwallet launch

We rescheluded  the launch of ATAOwallet, originally planned for September 2018. The development of wallets for each operating system (Linux, Mac, Windows) – all under the ATAOwallet umbrella brand name – has started in Winter 2017, and is still ongoing, because very advanced features – like cloud computing support – are being implemented for the future and tested thoroughly. While doing so, our team faced unforeseen challenges that involved complex problem solving in order to make our wallet extra secure and functional. With that in mind, we decided to make it publicly available with a one month delay, so it will be released as perfect as we planned. From the beginning of times, pioneers would incur high costs in exchange for lavish profits if successful. The conquerors from thousand years ago faced hostile natural environments and a vision of imminent death, the prize usually being better landed to settle — a long-term benefit for the whole community. Today, no one puts life on the line and the profits are greater and quicker to come. Under one condition — you have to trust the power of cryptocurrencies.

The ICOReport, recently published by an independent agency analysing the ICO market presents conclusions, which are very optimistic for the whole market. All the ICO’s in the first two quarters of 2018 were worth exactly 11 690 981 663 US dollars, meaning that the market grew 10 fold versus the same period of the previous year. The entire ICO market doubled during the year and they are no signs for this trend to reverse.

The vast majority of projects arose from the financial market and they collectively managed to collect most of the funds. More particularly, those investors, who have entrusted their assets in ICO’s in the sector of cryptocurrencies and portfolios gained the most — as much as 914%!

In the opinion of the agency, not only profits but also formal requirements of the projects have stepped up. Decreases in fragmented retail investors trading are being continued, at the cost of the institutional parties. Strengthening of collaboration with investment funds contributes to increasing of project transparency. Experts are pointing out that the success is supported by progressing changes in the market structure. More projects would rather rely on large private investors rather than public offerings. The agency underlines that thanks to the transparency of the projects, the market is also becoming safer.

The report is also referring to project nationality data. It turns out that the most dynamic growth is concentrated in Europe (46%) with Malta as the leader in terms of assets, followed by Gibraltar and Singapore (lagging far behind). The agency has however also looked into the original provenience of the ICO teams and here, the top three changed to South Korea, Portugal and Israel. The king in terms of the number of ICO’s in North America, giving birth to almost 65% of all projects over the last six months. We also read that the hegemony of Ethereum-based tokens is incontestable — 95% of the total. The most popular and at the same time profitable projects were based on a finalized product and ongoing operational business. The most capital was attracted by MVP-stage projects and the least to code-phase ones, but the projects offering only an idea were the most risk-exposed. On average, the best companies gathered 50 m US dollars in 63 days, but three of the projects managed to obtain the capital assumed in their plans in one day only.

The report is giving further excellent news, especially for the ICO’s from the exchange and portfolio markets. Projects gathering funds to launch an exchange or to cover for its liquidity are naturally guaranteed to have an opening. No surprise then that the most profitable ventures found their place amidst these projects. It is worth noticing that even though such projects have generated astronomic profits, outclassing all the competitors, they are a minority among all the ICO’s (7% of all 827 projects initiated in Q2). Investors interested in high profits should pay particular attention to this sector, as it is facing the lowest risk.

The general conclusion of the report is that the traditional market is vitally interested in the ICO projects and is beginning to willingly invest capital there. This, in turn, forces a whole range of regulations and a simultaneous increase in credibility. By matching the growth curves to the trustworthiness of the ICO offers, we may conclude that now it is the best possible moment to invest.
