Forum related / Re: Additional Membersgroups : zoom 1
« on: March 26, 2024, 12:40:50 PM »
Where is the red circle? I'm looking all over this guys profile and I'm not seeing the circle at all.

Being as the account teleported, we can assume it is the owner from btctalk and depending on the infractions it could cause repercussions over there IMO.

In the profile of that user group you will find this text:

Code: [Select]
Additional Membergroups: zoom 1

On each user's posts, you will see the red dot above their profile picture:

Just like me, I also tend to experience a lot of failure in providing education to members who continuously make Spammer type posts, even though previously I had also given direct warnings through post replies or quotes.
We can only think positively because we are in a friendly forum and this is one of the best forms for us as members who have broad insight to provide education to those who always make Low Quality Posts.

But if the member continuously makes mistakes by making Spam posts, then I used to (when I was a Modz) immediately delete the posts or move them to the "Quarantine and Test Area" sub-forum.
Why did I move the Spam post?
Due to the fear that the post's authenticity could still be tested if an appeal is filed, this is also my policy between deleting the post and moving the post.

I think spam posts shouldn't be moved anywhere, they should be deleted directly, after that the user should be notified (something I don't do anymore) and an initial warning sent. If we had to notify each user via PM that they were just posting spam, we would never finish, and what's worse, we would waste time because, as I said in my previous post, that doesn't work. If this behavior continues, other measures are taken to prevent it.

Any user affected by the deletion of posts can write to any of the moderators to find out what the problem is, but surprisingly none of them do, because they know perfectly well that they are violating the most basic rules of the forum. Fortunately we now have the Quality Bar, which saves us a lot of time by not having to review the posts history of some users.

This would be ideal and perhaps in the future users would be given options to reorder topics according to their karma or according to which users have the highest karma. However, I do not like this data to be available to the public, because giving negative karma will be less due to the fear that it will be returned to you.

With the karma counter in the threads/posts we will know how much positive and negative karma we receive, but we will not know which users interact. As has already been said on more than one occasion (the administrator and the moderators) the karma system will not be public, no one will know who gives positive or negative karma to other users. It is better to continue like this to avoid confrontations and discussions that do not contribute anything to the forum or the mental health of the users, otherwise, the forum would become chaos.

After seeing that this thread was only created with the intention that every so often a user with a new account will say something nonsensical to make people believe that it is the best exchange in the world, this thread will remain locked from now on. If @Coin Corner want the thread to be reopened so that users can have a normal conversation and contribute quality content to the forum, send me a PM.

Privacy Coins Forum / Re: OKX to delist privacy coins
« on: March 25, 2024, 08:06:35 PM »
Honestly? It felt like the exchanges started delisting XMR on purpose. Rather, they thought to manipulate and so on. Alas, it did not work out. On the contrary, the community has shown that it makes absolutely no difference to them whether a given asset is traded on the x-exchange or not. They did the right thing, in a word. They didn't follow the example of decentralized platforms. As far as I'm concerned, that's the way it should be. By such actions they have shown - that it is absolutely not about the funds, but about the XMR technology.

P.S. Do you think, in the shortest possible time, the other exchanges will remove XMR from trading pairs in a similar way? I think it's inevitable. I mean, regulation is coming.  ???

All centralized exchanges that want to operate in countries with crypto regulations, legislated by governments, must compulsorily comply with these regulations, otherwise they will not obtain a license and will not be able to operate legally. If to comply with those laws, exchanges must remove privacy coins from their trading pairs, they will certainly remove them, since exchanges make more money from fees from other markets than from privacy coins alone, you know, it's all about money.

All exchanges will do it, at least the best known and highest volume ones, but I don't think that will happen overnight. As for XMR, I wouldn't worry, decentralized exchanges are its birthplace, although many people don't know it yet. Furthermore, the #DevelopmentTeam  knows very well what they are doing and what direction XMR is taking and I am sure they are not worried about XMR disappearing from centralized exchanges.

Noticias Criptomonedas / Re: Una medida sin Telegram a
« on: March 25, 2024, 07:16:33 PM »

Binance / Re: Binance to be banned in Philippines.
« on: March 25, 2024, 06:35:12 PM »
This is more common than we think lately. OKX ceases operations in India and gives users until April 30 to withdraw their funds, after which everything will get complicated. Centralized exchanges will have more problems and requests from governments in the name of the supposed "anti-money laundering" fight, as they would have us believe, that's why we're going to see more closures and license denials in the coming months and years. Decentralized exchanges are the best solution in these cases for most users.

It's a new feature that the administrator introduced just 5 days ago. It's called Quality Bar, and it's very useful for bounty managers and moderators. Here's more information.

But let's be real here, everyone will not stay for too long anywhere if there's no earnings, no decent discussion and information you can benefit from, or earn anything in return.

This is precisely where I wanted to go. "Anything in return". I understand that we all want to earn coins/tokens, it's logical. But analyzing that phrase I wonder... Is the knowledge we get in this forum (and in others on any other topic) useless?. Personally, I don't think so, and I also think it has as much or more value than the coins/tokens we can earn. That's my perception.

Forums are built thanks to the contributions of users, administrators, forum staff over hours and years of effort, which is why a forum, this forum, has so much value to me.

It is completely normal that things like this happen. The exchange must be protected from the laws on cryptocurrencies that are not 100% clear or that are not completely finished, otherwise they could have problems. I don't know how the legal situation is now (after reading so many contradictory articles) currently in India, but until the government 100% approves cryptocurrencies, it's better to close the doors to users from that country. And then, if possible, apply for the license to operate legally. This will make the requirements for KYC stricter and more personal data will be needed.

I've moved this thread to the Bugs & Tech support subforum. The admin opened a thread for issues like this to try to help solve them, users can keep talking in that thread.

There are several users discussing in a thread about the problems at Winz's signature. The signature is deformed.
