Are bounty programs waste of time or a passive way of generating income?

It becomes very sad and unfortunate when you toil for several months for tokens by participating in a bounty program and turns out to be a shit coin or a scam project. I believe most of us here have been victims once.
The fact is, there isn't any 100% working strategy to detect the authenticity of a project. The best you can do to help yourself is to do a research on the project. Study the team members and try to figure out if the team really possess the credentials which they present on their whitepapers and websites. Check out if the advisor chosen for the project is really on board with the team by cross-checking from his tweets on twitter about the projects.

Bounty programs are definitely worhwhile, not only in terms of reward, but also in terms of experience and knowledge...
you might also bump into opportunities as you sometimes get into contact with team members... and who knows end up being a part of the team   
of course, like in everything, you win some, and loose some...
but if the project is sucessfull you will earn a lot...

Bounties are not wast of despite numerous scam and pump and dump projects. Bounties are essentially incentivized reward mechanisms offered by companies to individuals. I think is also one the ways of getting extral income (ie passive income ) as you mentioned.
To participate in bounties and get rewarded, you should take a thorough research of the project to be sure of payments.

I constantly have such situations, even if the project seems promising, problems may arise and the coins of the project are traded on the bottom, but recently only 1-2 projects out of 10 are successful and bring tangible profits.

I agree! Research is the only best way to help ourselves to make sure that we are not doing something just for nothing. So let us protect ourselves by making personal study of the bounty that we will be joining.

Bounty is absolutely not a waste of time it will be a waste of time if at the end the team will not pay the bounty supporters. To research is good but still there are project that have a nice move that could get out from whatever issue in the market and can give some alibies in order not to send the payments.

I agree, there are many projects that we spend our time on, and then it turns out that the project is fraudulent. But the fact is that there are real and honest projects, but due to circumstances they failed to realize their plans and make their coins promising and in demand on the market. There are many factors that affect the success of the project and no one can anticipate them, so to minimize the risks, you need to carefully study the projects in which you are involved and if you do not like something just passing by.

It is not a wasting of time, for me it is a passive way of generating income. As long as you do your part by searching how do bounty developed, read carefully the whitepaper of the project. You must do your job in bounty when you really want to eatn good profit in the future.

Yes I always look at the social media of the project. whether always updated or never. next I look at the rating of the project and how the project team works.

Today I am convinced that you must necessarily join the bounty of the project, where you are going to invest. Participation in the bounty for me has become an obligatory pre-investment phase. If to say otherwise, then I will not invest in the project if I did not participate in its bounty.
