Dead Hard drive
« on: March 14, 2022, 08:05:18 AM »
If you remember a while back I had a crashed hard drive. It's my stupid but I did not back it up before doing a new hard drive install. Now, I REALLY need the data on that hard drive. I didn't delete any of it, so I am SURE the data is still on the disk. The drive is un responsive no mater what I do. I am in no way an expert or ever good at electronics of computers.

I am relatively sure the disk can be removed and put into a good operating hard drive, so as to retrieve the data.

Has anyone ever done it, or know of a place to send the drive to be able to retrieve the data?

I don't think you should try to recover the data yourself if you haven't done anything like this before

I think you should contact a professional IT specialist and ask them to help.

I still think the best thing one can do in a situation like that is contact a pro and ask them for help.

if the easiest is you just take it to someone who can fix it because that's the best way and doesn't make you nervous too. but if you want to try it doesn't hurt.
have you tried running from an external hard drive so that the windows system can open? or some kind of external flash, maybe it will be able to help, so it can move the data manually.

Any company that deals with disk recovery should solve this problem

I also had two hard drive crashes. On the first one I was able to recover the data myself with the help of software. The second one I had to take to the service. In your case, too, as written need only service, there I think they can restore it.
