Basic Questions regarding the Rank up and Karma

The first question is; It seems members can rank up without even getting a Karma. If it's possible to rank up with activity only, what karma is required?
Or maybe I am wrong? We need more detailed information about ranking up. What karma stands for and why it's important. Does it affect my ranking?

The next question is, Is it possible to check who gave you positive Karma and who gave you negative karma, and for which post? Just like the merit system on BitcoinTalk? Because if someone has a group of friends, they can send positive karma to each other and if there is no way to check, it's abuse. The opposite thing can happen too. Let's say I have too many enemies and they started to give me negative karma just because they don't like me.

Why do you need a detailed information about ranking up? All main restrictions including captchas and restrictions on links and images publishing stop on the early stages. Then you can communicate without any problems with any rank. Don't pay too much attention to ranks and you'll get them.

Karma is not needed for ranking up at least for younger ranks. But the rank requirements can change in time.

No, you can't see who gave you karma and for what. Altcoinstalks is not Bitcointalk and here are different rules and traditions. Not knowing about karma is made to prevent karma wars too. And if someone will decide to use karma as a weapon he'll face penalties from forum. admin can check who gave karma and there were cases of inappropriate use of it. All inappropriate karma was deleted and violators got penalties.
