Why do govts don't make Bitcoin illegal worldwide ??
« on: July 09, 2018, 01:28:36 PM »
I'm wondering this because is such a real threat to bank system and we all know how banks and governments are tightly linked !

BTC could make people more autonomous, self-resilient, being their own bank. You can use it like cash, making your transaction almost untraceable (or untraceable using e.g. dash or laundry systems) : this is governments worst nightmare, isn't it ?

Yeah, the government and banking industry have been quietly fighting it for the past few years.  I think they know they can't win ultimately but still gotta try anyways.

As it is a more BUZZ question, it is really hard to give the right answer. Because there is the legal reason from the governmental side.

You can see that by using bitcoin criminal can have privileges. And also there is a money laundering issue.

This two fact making bitcoin illegal to the government.

I don't know what is the best solution for it.

That is good that we are having good profit. But to live in a better society and world we need to keep secure our world/society.

I think if the government let it go like that it may bring serious harm later to the ecosystem of the economy. There must be balance everywhere. Even if you see our world also keeps balance by nature.

There must be a good agreement between the government and all digital cryptocurrency.

if there would be an agreement, govts would be at peace but they're still not sure about banning it or letting it go.
and yes I agree with you

Yes, govts would be at peace and we will also get relief from the fear of getting ban. Within this month a few steps has taken by US government to look after the money laundering issue. Also, The south Korean government are positive to accept crypto within its regulations. So, there are lots of positive and negative signal out three.

So, let's wait and see the drama. :) and within this time have some profit from crypto.

Ambar You are absolutely right. War governments and banks with a turnover of bitcoin is inevitable. Initially, the government did not attach importance to this problem, and now it's too late. The world is not unipolar and a ban in one state would cause all the money will go to another state. The cat will go for it? The government just don't know what to do with bitcoin. This is the calm before the storm.

Сама философия биткойна не подразумевает банки и правительство. Что бы не зависить от них и на прямую обмениваться ценными активами.

Cryptos are very small in terms of their volume on the market, so governments don't pay much attention to them and there is no threat perception. At least for now, but this situation can change in future. If they start to see it as a threat, they will immediately qualify as illegal.

I feel that the majority of countries in the world do not see bitcoin as a threat, but instead they see it as something revolutionary.
Making illegal bitcoins is not something they want to make. Most countries do not see the danger in bitcoin. The problem with government and bitcoin is the government's inability to regulate bitcoin as they see fit, which is why bitcoin is always a threat to them. I believe in the near future the way will be taken to set the bitcoin and not declare it illegal

The G7 member states at a recent summit determined that cryptocurrency does not pose a threat to the global financial system. That is, the states do not yet consider it necessary to fight the cryptocurrency. If they jointly want to do this and together establish criminal liability for its use with a simultaneous practical complete ban, then the cryptocurrency will be so illegal that it will in fact cease to be used.
