I agree that hardwallet is safe to store some coins and tokens but storing it online would also be safe as long as you know how to handle a good security. Well, I think the hardware wallet is the safest option, .... nevertheless if you have a regular wallet and you have the private key written somewhere, and/or you have a VPN you are relatively safe from hacking ...
Hardware wallets are a bit overestimated I think...

First of all, in order for our funds to be safe, we do not need to keep them on exchanges. And secondly - we need to take care of storing private keys from the wallets in a safe place from hackers!
