Peers are equally privileged, equipotent participants in the application. They are said to form a peer-to-peer network of nodes.
The block-chain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.

The P2P network is decentralized overlay computer network in which the node relationships are built on an equal footing and do not have a dedicated server. The nodes of this network have the role of both the client and the server. Blockchain only works on a similar principle.
