Title: Signature campaign on Bitcoin Talk VS. on Altcoins Talks
Post by: admin on April 24, 2018, 07:04:59 PM
I have been asked to reply to concerns, thus i am writing this post to compare both platforms.

In essence, both platforms have different approaches for rank upgrade and thus as a result on signature campaigns.

Let's start with Bitcoin Talk ranking:
- In the past, BTT limited the number of rank upgrades to roughly once per month, thus you can rank up once per month if you are active.
- Now, BTT changed the rank system to base it on "Merit", means you will only rank up once you get the needed merit points - not easy to achieve, thus locking the average joe in lower ranks.

Altcoins Talks Ranking:
- In the past, we had no restriction, except for some sections where we did not count the posts, users were able to rank quite quickly. This was also true for BTT in early days.
- Now, we have implemented a system to ignore non meaningful contributions, thus ranking became harder as much more posts are no longer taken into post count .

For a signature campaign:
- BTT puts limitation on signatures based on ranks, and does not allow images.
- We do not limit signature based on ranks, and do allow images, thus you can create 1 signature for all ranks, or even better: you can create an image or gif signatures!

Further advantages of ALTT:
- We try to detect duplicate accounts, and immediately label them as duplicates, thus helping you avoid being cheated.
- We will promote you bounty, just donate some tokens to our forum account, and we will help you reach more bounty hunters.
- Your bounty will be more visible, as it will stay visible on first page for several hours  ;D unlike BTT where the amount of competition and spam posting will bury most campaigns limiting your presence on the sub-forum 1st page for less than 2 minutes.

Great summary Admin.

One thing I'm thinking of is signature. You say that we don't limit signature to ranks. Each member is able to have same signature from day one. This can be problematic with bounty campaigns. I think that stakes are different on BTT for ranks because of signature. Higher rank better signature equals better pay out.

If we have same signature for every member why would they pay more for higher rank? Not needed.
For quality content maybe but this will be hard to evaluate and control after bounty.

I don't know if my concerns are valid. What do you think Admin and AltcoinsTalks members?

You got a good point here and I agree with you. The campaigns can get more banal this way.

If the forum will handle campaign themselves then it feels safe to bount here, because they will only handle meaningful and good ICO program. This is a good approach if it's not abused. But then how do we recognise ICO bounty campaign that is manage by the forum?

Obviously the terms are easier for now in here than BTT. We need to understand that ALTcoinTalk is fairly new and do not have that luxury to bring restrictions like BTT. I really hope someday this forum will have enormous amount of population and we will have more quality in signature campaigns than we have now. Please do not get me wrong. I really want this forum live long and the only way is to provide better service.

Is there a campaign that pays with Bitcoin every week (weekly Payment)?

Not that I've seen as of yet.. I'm more the gambling type so I prefer the risks of accumulating alt coins over a static amount of BTC, but I think we will see some pretty soon.  The forum is still in its infancy stage and will attract more opportunities like this as it continues to grow.
