Regulators in China banned cryptocurrency trading and mining this year, with the country's central bank vowing to purge "illegal" cryptocurrency activities last month. This news does not affects the development of cryptocurrency. From this one should not panic.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency prices are not totally dependent on China. However, ultimately, China is likely to become the world’s most regulated crypto hub and will definitely have a continuing impact on the demand and price of cryptocurrency.

It will not happen in the near future. Unlike fiat money, cryptocurrency is not regulated by central authorities or backed by governments. This makes the virtual currency less credible than the real one. Cryptocurrency is also much more volatile than fiat money. The volatility is primarily driven by the speculative nature of the trade.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Will the bullrun last until May 2022?

Astonishing rise in the price of the first cryptocurrency BTC already this year, shows it will be so powerful that the current bitcoin maximum will cease to surprise anyone. It is worth noting that making any long-term predictions about bull run, which depends on the will of Bitcoin whales and which can calmly move the asset’s price both up and down, is a difficult task.

It’s not that government China are banning cryptocurrencies because they necessarily expect the technology to fail. It’s that they want to be in charge of an experiment with potentially trillions of dollars. Also  they want to be able to monitor currency transactions and negate any challenge to their homegrown digital currencies.
