ECB eyes the adoption of digital euro

The European Central Bank recently approved a plan that could lead directly to the adoption of the digital Euro within a few years.
According to ECB’s own statement, it has apparently initiated an “investigation phase” which will continue through the next two years and the purpose of which is to resolve a number of technical issues regarding the design and the distribution of the future digital coin.
The ECB did clarify, however, that its current initiative “will not prejudge any future decision on the possible issuance of a digital euro, which will come only later. In any event, a digital euro would complement cash, not replace it”.

The interest in cryptocurrencies is pushing the creation of CBDCs, but I wonder who would win into this rivalry.

The side that will win is the one that will be adopted by the people and the loser is the one that the government with the help of the people will be able to kicked away from the limelight in the same way which China is doing right now whcih is making suire there is nothing that can compete with its digitalized version of fiat money. ECB has no choice because they never wanted to be left behind in the race for CBDC.

The European Union is proposing to ban anonymous cryptocurrency transactions and anonymous cryptocurrency wallets.  The European Commission has said that systems such as bitcoin should be governed by the same rules as regular bank transfers.  It seems that more and more governments are trying to ban or control crypto, replacing it with their own digital currencies.  Although in my opinion they could cooperate profitably.

In my opinion, and at this level of bitcoin adoption and popularity, i think it may ni be easy for European Commission to ban bitcoin related activities, whether on trading or investment opportunities. I believed that bitcoin has gain huge attentions in many countries like in the USA, Germany, Japan etc. These advanced countries, plus more countries in less developed world has also embraced one form of bitcoin activities or another. Honestly, bitcoin looks unstoppable now and in near future.
