Dogecoin, the favorite cryptocurrency of Twitter and Elon Musk, is once again in the limelight. Elon Musk criticized the base-layer scalability of Bitcoin and Ethereum, and stated that Dogecoin has the potential to maximize base layer transactions at lower costs.

Well, Elon Musk is at it again at his best...criticizing not just Bitcoin but also Ethereum and then promoting DogeCoin as if it is the answer to all the problems plaguing the many cryptocurrency platforms. While we should be open to discussions, I don't agree that he should be using his influence to further push down the market.

Elon is still very much trying to be relevant in the crypto space and to me, I believe he still had some Dogecoin accumulation he is trying to dump on investors that will rush to this news. The general market has been following the Bitcoin trend and Elon can not change that for Dogecoin by continuing to tweet or say whatever about dogecoin. I really don't see any effect his comment has made on the market lately.

Probably many people will buy Doge (although not as many people as before) and when the price goes up enough, Elon will sell some of his coins, that will bring down the Doge market and immediately silence will return to his Twitter account for a few days. The same process will be repeated as many times as necessary until the toxic Elon Musk controls most of Doge's supply and hundreds of millions of dollars from "investors".

What he says about crypto, specifically the recent comments on BTC and ETH, displays a lack of in depth knowledge about them... there were many reasonable counter-arguments to the tweet mentioned in this post, however of course those accounts don't have nearly the extent of following that Elon's Twitter account enjoys.

Bitcoin was created in 2009, ethereum in 2015. Of course, then they did not count on their so high popularity and such a simultaneous number of transactions. Therefore, their scalability was also small. If Bitcoin can still be criticized for this now, then from December 1, the ethereum network is completely updated and one of the planned improvements is to increase its scalability.

Already many users already did this as they made huge profits earlier when market was on bullish rally. But those users were faced huge losses when correction market was started. Just like OP said, Elon won't be able to push down or manipulate the market anymore. Though few puppets of Elon will try to create fomo into twitter and many newbies will fall for those. So everyone should aware of being into fomo.

There are certainly reasons why one could criticize the 2 flagships, but if you broaden your horizons, you will notice that exactly the 2 will survive the bloodbaths.

I am not surprised if Elon Musk makes another non-sense statement by saying Dogecoin is the favorite one, while he criticized BTC and ETH. I am sure what he wants is targetting to decrease the popularity of BTC and ETH as the icon of crypto world. If he can make people leave BTC and ETH, then he will easily destroy crypto space. Be careful with this man, guys!

In other words, Mr. Elon Musk is nothing more than a speculator and manipulator of the market. By trying to put a bleak paint on two of the top coins, he is hoping that more and more people will et into DogeCoin so that its price can rise. Unfortunately, am not sure if there is a law that he is breaking because cryptocurrency remains relatively unregulated for now. Had it been stocks, I don't think he will do that because he is aware of the consequences.

However, Elon Musk said at a conference yesterday that he also holds Bitcoin and Ethereum in addition to Doge. If everything is so bad with BTC and ETH, then why does he hold them?

Bitcoin and Ethereum are not perfect, that is something very logical, they could be criticized in many aspects without a doubt, but they are the ones that best withstand market changes. Negatively criticizing the two projects with the highest market capitalization to say that Doge is incredible it seems to me another insult from Elon Musk. But we already know perfectly well what Elon is doing, and more since yesterday, after that conference in which he said that Tesla could accept Bitcoin as a payment method again.
