Man Group CEO: Cryptocurrencies Are Tulip Mania

Man Group hedge fund CEO Luke Ellis likened cryptocurrencies to tulip rush. At the same time, the fund is interested in trading cryptocurrencies due to their high volatility. In his interview, Ellis described cryptocurrencies as speculative trading instruments with a high level of risk.

The usefulness of cryptocurrencies is measured by their volatility, so in general they can be considered a viable trading tool, Ellis said. Despite the fact that Bitcoin has long been no longer compared to tulip fever, which arose in the Netherlands in the 17th century, Ellis decided to "revive" the idea.

In some aspects, i would agree with this not-so-positive comparison by Mr. Luke Ellis especially with many bad projects and platforms that are populating the cryptocurrency industry. However, we already have legit and recognized big players in the industry that should be carrying its flag. Of course, since we don't know the future, it can be hard to speculate what can happen in the future. So this is going into the core of the matter: Is cryptocurrency industry really brining game-changing value or just like the tulips can be here for the money?
