Always Online and Green?

Someone told me that my profile is showing always green like I am always online and available in forum, but that is not true because I don't keep my browser always opened.

What does green square in my profile means, that I am logged in, or that I am online in forum?

I would like this to be hidden in settings if possible, like in other forums.

Mine too is always online but it's not I basically leave my account and just close the browser without logging out but right for the sake of this topic I tried to logout and it seems if you log in and you set it to forever without logging out later your account is always online.

I tried it just now I logged out and suddenly the green on the left side is gone you can also try it and use incognito mode to check your own profile.

How many of you used one old social media app called 2go?  Back in time when that social app was still functional it also had a feature where a green icon displays which signifies that users is online and when it turns  black ⚫ it means that the user is offline. Why I brought up the case of that social media is because sometimes you might be offline but the green icon will not turn black and it can stay green for up to two hours or more before it can finally changed to black. So, I feel that that's same issue the forum is have with that green icon.  I don't think you are the only person experiencing this, others might have noticed it but not speaking up because it doesn't really give any serious concerns to them.

This is the case, it's like there is an extended time after your last activity (forum access, clicks, posts, etc.) for your account to consider as offline. But your account will be offline only if you logout your account as it also will logout all the session in every device you logged in.

Indeed this is also what I observed , because checking my account in other browser even if I have closed that browser yet my account is still online but when i tried log out my account even without closing that browser? yes my account Green box have turned blank .
maybe OP is just closing His his tab and not logging out the account.

Dear OP, you are currently offline on my screen, which means you are wrong about your statement that you are always offline, and dear BitMaxz you also are offline from my side while you also said whenever you see your profile you are online. However I did not understand your method of remaining offline, I thought we had the option to show ourselves offline just like we have in BTT but I found no options.

I don't know the exact metrics that make us offline and online and only the admin can explain them precisely but I agree with Mrbluntzy for the time being.

I did not know that logging out from one device would log us out from every other device as well. I will try this. Yeah, you are right, I did try I logout out from mobile, and the session from my laptop automatically logged out. This is not good, as it can become frustrating for those who log in to their accounts on different devices.

You can just use incognito mode, so after you close your browser/tab you will be logout on that device without affecting your other device's session. Or you can just clear the browser's cookie only for altcoinstalks.com for you to logout.

Since you did not mention the person that told you this, then permit me to say that the person lied to you, several times I've come across your profile on this forum while browsing, I've sometimes seen the green square; signifying that you are online, and for most of the time; it's the gray square, like it is right now when posting this comment, which shows that you are offline, so, there must have been some kind of mistakes or confusion on the person's part.
See the shot below that you are offline right now.

I've not gone through other user's comment to find this out, but if the feature is not already available in user's profile setting, then it's a good idea, and I support it, user's should have the liberty of deciding when to let other user's know that they are online or not.

Thanks for the info, I was not aware of this, (+1) I actually don't log out or log in too much from my devices, so that's why I did not know about these facts, but I wonder how you get to know this much about this forum. I know you are a developer but how! What's the secret  I get one thing spending time, and learning the way things work, gives you an idea of how the forum works.

But still, there are some secret tips you are holding onto. BTW your TG bot gave me a mini heart attack today, by showing me this. But when I visited the forum and it was down, I realized there must be a problem in the bot too due to the website being down.

There must be some delay for activity.
This is working differently than in bitcvointalk forum, that is why it looked strange to me.
I dont always log out from this forum, and I prefer to have online green square hidden or removed to avoid confusion, but we don't have this option in altcoinstalks settings.
