Quantity vs quality - which one should the forum go for?
« on: October 14, 2018, 02:33:28 PM »
According to my observation, the forum is a bit quiet lately. Although there's a number of new features have just been implemented but people doesn't seem very intersted in. It's not about those features are uncool but maybe we're lack of dedicated member. A thought just come up in my mind that at this stage, does the forum need quantity or quality? I would go for the former: we need more and more members though we still need to keep the forum's overall quality at a decent level.
What's your thought on this?

I think the interest in the forum reflects current interest in cryptocurrency, which at the moment, along with volume and volatility, is very low.
There are busier days and quieter days on the forum, notably it's also a weekend so less people are online I think. But generally it seems stable.
Overall I have seen the forum grow with more and more active members over the past year, in contrast to a decrease in interest in crypto.

Both of these are needed as well.
We know Quality is important. Not only quality, but also quantity are very useful for the forum development.
Quantity is related to the traffic. More traffic we can gain, can be better to the forum

As of now, maybe we need more members here, so I go with the quantity, if we reach the quota maybe we can now do some actions to prevent spammers and help them to contribute to our little community

I think both aspects is very important.
Cause quantity and quality will make growing up this forum as well.
Quantity without quality I think is nonsense.
Otherwise, quality without reader/responder/apreciator is also nonsense.

Perfectly coincide with my idea. There should be more activities to make the forum lively: event, discussing worthy topics or something like that. Only that way to attract more member, then quantitative accumulation will lead to qualitative transformation.

~snip~
It takes a lot of time or is very difficult to achieve both quality and quantity at the same time. I'd rather sacrifice quality to get quantity or let quantity go to maintain quality than trying to keep the two things at a low level.

For every business and project get to a quality level he first all of go through accumulation process which is going through the quantity process in order to gain quality result I think the both is needed for now.

I would go for quantity with quality. The higher the quality this forum provides, the more attractive it is for potential forum users.

What's your thought on this?

Quality will always trump quantity any time. Quantity usually attracts debris but quality always attracts genuine, serious minded individuals.

In this early stage, I think quantity should be the priority, we should start focusing on quality when the forum is now popular.
