The price of bitcoin really affects the price of every altcoin in the market even Ethereum, bitcoin pumps they dump then recover later, bitcoin dumps -1%, altcoins will dump - 10% that's how it has been, I don't know if it's because alot of exchanges normally pair altcoins with bitcoin, but there's no crypto exchange(aside DEX) without a btc pair, because bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency in the world and most people would like to trade their altcoins against a coin they know about.

I think because bitcoin is very popular and well known by the populace, even those that does not know the crypto space, yet know that bitcoin is surging high in price. The popularity of bitcoin has gone too viral that it will continue to have control on the price direction of all coins within the crypto space.

I don't think anyone can control the market other than whales. Therefore, it seems to me that no altcoin can replace Bitcoin, at least in the near future.

That's impossible. For that, it would be necessary for the capitalization of all altcoins to exceed that of Bitcoin, and as we already know that is not so. Bitcoin was, is and will be the dominant currency in the world of cryptocurrencies. It was the first for a reason and it is where the vast majority of institutional money and large investors go.

1. Altcoins cannot and will not be able to take over bitcoin; taking over does not work with token price alone; but volume and acceptability; also altcoins cannot control the market; at the moment; altcoin dependency on bitcoin is over 50%; a 10% dump in btc means more dump for altcoins. Always do your own research

At the moment it is difficult to say, and even more difficult to assess the situation in the market. Bitcoin is the most serious player on the market, and everyone else looks at it, and the course of further events depends on it. Bitcoin is now the main one and so far there is no one to shake its position.

On the off chance that we see from the condition at the present time, it is inconceivable. Bitcoin actually holds control of this market. Altcoins consistently rely upon on the fluctuating and economic situation of BTC. BTC is up, altcoins will be down, Bitcoin down, the altcoin will be additionally down, and when BTC is sideway, altcoins will siphon

In the beginning retail investors invested in all kinds of altcoins. With the market enduring several cycles of booms and busts, institutional players are entering in action. They are betting big on Bitcoin and less on altcoins. This keeps the momentum in Bitcoin's favor.

I have always expected the Altcoins rebellion, because Bitcoin has so many limitations in scalability, it is difficult to understand when Satoshi decided Bitcoin's speed was only 5 tps.
The very developed blockchains such as Ethereum, Cardano, Polkadot, TRON will directly compete with Bitcoin and are ready to topple Bitcoin's throne in the future. This is unlikely to happen but I am still looking forward.

It could also be like that because these altcoins lack the power to beat Bitcoin because Bitcoin has become popular for the first time.
Until now Bitcoin still has dominance for each trade and almost 65% compared to altcoins which is only 35% for the total altcoins on Coinmarketcap.

I think these altcoins will stay where they are. It is like silver, until now, has not been able to replace gold. Yes maybe it will be like the altcoins on Bitcoin.

This situation is quite likely.  If there is a working product, great demand - then why not ... But at the moment, it is difficult to name candidates for this role
If my opinion isn't going to happen, Bitcoin will still be number one and controlling the market. Although there are coins that have a higher price, the trading volume of Bitcoin looks like it will never be beaten.

When Bitcoin has appreciated well for many years, it seems like it will continue for a very long time. However, what will happen if it stops in price for a long time or even starts to fall with the continued development of altcoins? I am sure that many will very quickly begin to dump it and switch to more promising altcoins for growth. Then the bitcoin price will drop very low.
You should always remember about such a scenario of the development of events, since Bitcoin is improving very slowly and very many altcoins have long overtaken it in development.

the upward trend in bitcoin prices has had a positive impact on altcoin prices lately. altcoin demand will also increase if investors think the bitcoin price is too high. in the end they will shift to altcoins Government policies and events affect the level of prices, but control rests solely with buyers and sellers of Bitcoin, whose number is currently over 8,300 tokens scattered in cyberspace.
