Title: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday?
Post by: Vietchong on August 08, 2020, 04:07:54 PM
In these times of turmoil, Gold is reaching new ATHs in price. But Bitcoin doesn't leave behind. With a limited supply of only 21 million coins, hardened security, and a focus on decentralization, Bitcoin is often viewed by many as the successor of Gold. One of Bitcoin's greatest benefits on top of Gold, is portability. You can virtually carry your Bitcoin with you safely when travelling, without anyone noticing. That's not the case with Gold, as you'd need to carry physical bullion with you. Other than portability, Gold and Bitcoin are very much alike.

Do you think that Bitcoin will be able to replace Gold someday? As we shift into the "intangible" world, people will "ditch" physical stuff in exchange for digital items. Bitcoin can become the new digital Gold which serves as a safe-haven asset (store of value) in times of need. Thoughts?  ::)

There is actually no point of Bitcoin replacing gold as they are all different assets and can be able to co-exist in the marketplace. There are use of gold that Bitcoin can't do and vice versa. Why do you think gold is rising right now if its future is perceived to be doomed because of Bitcoin? These two assets are to increase their value due to demand and known many uses and benefits.

It's already replacing, more valuable and reaching highs faster than gold nowadays, it's better to buy BTC than Gold today :) and the possibilities of profit will be higher too

I think Bitcoin will never replace gold, this is a different investment, friends.  History has proven that technology can be destroyed, as well as blockchain technology. whereas gold is an asset that belongs to our earth and cannot be destroyed before this world ends.

Sorry if my answer is a little out of discussion.

I doubt if Gold will replace Gold totally since it is impossible in my opinion. I think Bitcoin is only the alternative or another option for payment tool. As Bitcoin is only used in digital world, not in real life, it will be difficult to have a single currency like Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin reaches a large enough scale and is widely accepted as a viable alternative to gold, silver, or the national currency as a store of value, the cryptocurrency will have a bright future. . If not, it will go to zero. The same goes for many other cryptocurrencies, and hundreds of them have collapsed and burned.

It's still very difficult to see Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies alongside the mountain of gold. One can see a relative shortage of silver, but while modern miners are mining 10 times more silver per year than gold, gold is almost 90 times worth.

No it will not happen.  although there are few similarities between them gold still differ from bitcoin. Bitcoin focus in codes and algorithms while gold focus on treasure and always minable in different places. Gold is actual, bitcoin is binary code in cashless society.

Of course, neither Bitcoin nor any other decentralized cryptocurrency will ever replace gold. There will always be a need for gold as a store of value, payment. Not everyone will accept digital currencies. They are, after all, more based on trust than physical value.

I hope this happens soon, because according to research, the cost of creating BTC is cheaper than gold in terms of the same value. The workers and the environment are also not exposed to the same high risk as gold mining.
And as the story of a few months ago, the 2B USD worth of gold in the reserves of a fund in China is fake gold, BTC cannot be forged or manipulated.
Obviously BTC is better than gold, and even better if the mining energy problem is solved.

Neither Bitcoin nor the crypto market can get anywhere close to the multimillion dollar worth of gold, bonds and stocks. Investors are looking for stable and better assets to put their money in any of the three larger asset classes Bitcoin, not to mention alternatives like real estate or owning a business. only me.

It's not about the cost of mining gold and bitcoins. First of all, it is a matter of public confidence. Decentralized cryptocurrency is still used and intend to use a relatively small percentage of society. At the same time, even if they use cryptocurrency, they will use both fiat and gold in parallel. A significant part of the world's population will never give up gold as a measure of value and a means of payment. Therefore, Bitcoin will never replace gold. You can only count on the circulation of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies along with gold.

I think in the future BTC can completely replace gold in the matter of hoarding or trading with great value.
According to a previous study, the cost of mining gold is greater than mining BTC, and also more dangerous to the environment & human health/life than BTC.
However, in order for BTC to achieve such widespread acceptance, the crypto community needs to act harder and harder to change the perception of 7 billion people about BTC & cryptocurrencies.

For investment, Bitcoin is better than Gold and Bitcoin has replaced gold.  Bitcoin's price can jump higher faster.  Of course this will make us able to get money faster.

I think Bitcoin is difficult to replace by any coins. Bitcoin is a strong coin and it is like the father of all crypto coins. We cannot have other coins with the same history and the same big role as Bitcoin. Even Ethereum doesn't have the capacity as Bitcoin has.

Btc and gold are different, Gold is not only an investment or value reserve, but gold is also used in the electronic industry and more, we can't compare since those are completely different things, as money bitcoin is really better than gold.

I do not really see a time when people will be rejecting gold over Bitcoin. These are two important investment tools and I am sure that in the near future they will still be existing side by side. Gold has many uses that Bitcoin can not offer and vice versa. In fact, I am sure that there are investors who are already both into gold and Bitcoin. There is actually no reason why one has to replace the other when they can be good choices for safe haven. This is the reason why gold has been rising in value at the same time when Bitcoin is also getting bullish. This is just a matter of preference.

I think it's NOT, Gold will stay no matter what happens because Gold can survive any type of disaster even the Earth is going to melt the Gold will stay forever but Bitcoin is just a manmade technology base asset which has also a store of value (SoV) but Bitcoin still relying too much on man-made technology and help that makes Bitcoin more vulnerable compare to Gold thats why Gold will remain as the standard of all assets.

In my opinion, currently Bitcoin is able to beat gold. Lots of people have moved from investing in gold, towards bitcoin. Because indeed in terms of profits, of course it would be better to invest in bitcoin. Because gold price movements are also very slow. Even though investment in gold has continued to increase in value. But we can't get multiple profits in just a short time. The only one who can do this is bitcoin.

The achievement of new gold ATH has made many precious stone investors sell their gold and the current price trend in the gold market is experiencing a slight increase, if we compare it to Bitcoin, I think the price of Bitcoin is higher than gold, the increase in the price of bitcoin has set a new record and remains in over $ 10k, if this price continues, I'm sure bitcoin can hit a new ATh in 2021.

Bitcoin is a currency that helps currencies reach the pinnacle of growth. But the popularity of Bitcoin increases even more when the price of any other currency is higher than that of Bitcoin. Because no matter how expensive other coins are, people don't believe them. who trusts bitcoin. So I think the popularity of Bitcoin is going to increase day by day. Bitcoin has come to be the king of the market, it has remained the king. The market value of Bitcoin will increase many times over.

Of course, gold as a measure of value and a means of payment has already been used for thousands of years and will probably be used even less in time. Cryptocurrency has been around for a few moments compared to gold. Therefore, it should not even be compared with gold, especially since these are financial assets that are almost opposite in all respects. Therefore, cryptocurrency will never replace gold. Bitcoin has no reason to replace gold. I don’t think there is a reason for Bitcoin to replace gold. Because gold will not be replaced, there will be use of gold. Bitcoin can't keep gold down. No matter how expensive Bitcoin is, gold will continue to be used. Bitcoin is Precious At the present time, people are interested in investing in Bitcoin. But I think it will not be possible to replace the use of gold. These two together will further increase the price.

I don't think Bitcoin can replace gold. Because Bitcoin is as valuable as gold, Bitcoin is valuable but gold is also valuable, things used by people are valuable. I think the popularity and demand of Bitcoin has started to increase day by day. But people use gold, so gold will continue to be used. Gold will be used in this way in the future. So I don't think Bitcoin can replace gold. The two together can further enhance its prestige and price.

Bitcoin is a modern investment with internet technology that does not have a real form, but has very high fluctuations in price changes.  While gold is a real item that has the same form and can be used as an investment.  Many people choose Bitcoin because of its fast price changes and can get faster profits, but many people are afraid of investing in Bitcoin because of this high price change, they are afraid the price will drop drastically.
So I don't think Bitcoin will replace gold in the future, because people won't throw Gold that has its real form turning to Bitcoin.  Bitcoin and Gold will be two investments that will live together, because they have different fans.

Gold and cryptocurrency assets like bitcoin are different in my opinion although in some ways they are similar in some aspects. but gold is something which cannot be renewed and has a rare value and prestigious value. The basic logic is when gold cannot be added with asumi a fixed supply, and when demand increases, the price will automatically continue to increase. This applies to bitcoin where the supply and circulation is constant but demand continues to increase, the price will increase every time

So the biggest and biggest member of the blockchain is Bitcoin. Bitcoin is one of the best digital currencies. Bitcoin has become the safest and most resourceful of digital currencies. People have been able to think for a long time that Bitcoin will be a valuable currency for them in the future. So people are ready to invest. But the current people do not want to buy gold. Moreover, if the central bank uses Bitcoin in their transactions, then Bitcoin will one day be more valuable than gold.

In some aspects Bitcoin and Gold are actually the same, but on the other hand Bitcoin and Gold are very different.
The price of bitcoin is purely formed due to market demand, while gold is very different, the price of gold tends to rise because it is scarce and difficult to mine, and not everyone can afford to mine gold.

Maybe yes and maybe no. It can be a substitute for people who are familiar with bitcoin and explore the pros and cons of bitcoin investment because we know for bitcoin investment we need supporting equipment, especially internet access. But for people who are not familiar with bitcoin, they will prefer investing in gold because they don't need equipment and internet access, especially, just by going to the local market so we can buy and sell gold.
Therefore, in my opinion, bitcoin replacing gold maybe can or may not happen.

These investors prefer Bitcoin but more. They do not want to buy gold. People prefer to buy bitcoin instead of gold. The current bitcoin is very valuable which can be many times more. So many people think that Bitcoin will replace gold in the next world. I also agree with them. Gold will be precious in the next world.

I don't think so. In what way Bitcoin can replace gold? They are too different, Bitcoin is a digital asset, while gold is a physical asset. In my opinion, they cannot replace one another. Both are needed for the human economy, we don't need to replace one of them. It is not something to have bad impacts on human life. So, we don't need to lose one of them, just keep using Gold and have Bitcoin together.

Thoughts?  ::)
Gold is a type of commodity that has real value and physical form. Also, that is not just money it has many use cases. People use gold to decorate themselves and even it uses to make many digital devices. So there will be a value of gold even BTC became the main payments methods. So they can co-exist.

If you look at the history of both, Gold was created from overflowing volcanoes, while the blockchain was created by Satoshi Nakamoto to be able to store all transaction data from Bitcoin, from here both of course have different and different purposes in the future.
I don't expect Bitcoin to replace gold because they are both completely unique and I think Bitcoin will hit a new ATH when more people use it.

Bitcoin has an advantage in terms of investment value compared to Gold, Bitcoin price can go up very high in a short time and that has never happened to Gold. However, gold is still widely chosen, because besides being able to invest, gold can also be made for jewelry.
Actually Bitcoin and Gold are two different things, so they cannot replace each other.

Actually, in my opinion, the only thing that Bitcoin and gold have in common is that these two things are highly valued and have a limited number in the world. But otherwise, Bitcoin and gold have different weight categories and functionality. It is also necessary to take into account not only the technical qualities of Bitcoin, but also the physical characteristics of gold, thanks to which gold is used in various areas of high technology, and which cannot be replaced by any substance from the entire periodic table.

Gold and bitcoins are totally different assets that can co-exist in the same marketplace. Bitcoins are generally the "digital money" of the digital world, while in the physical world, gold exists naturally and is mines from the earth crust with a low volatility and high liquidity feature. So this two commodities cannot breach their individual worlds to contest but rather used as an alternative to one another.

Gold is a real stock and it has also limited value. This is holly worth investing in because it is very valuable. But on the other hand, Bitcoin is also a worthy investment where we can gain big profits in a shorter time compared to GOLD. But in this case, we can see that the two should be here forever, we cannot compare two of them because they are all worthy. And none will replace the other

I think it is not true if Bitcoin will replace Gold someday. What for? How it can be? Gold has nothing to do with crypto existence. Gold is a physical thing and not a competitor of digital assets. Even if there is digital gold, but it has its own world. Bitcoin and Gold should survive together in the future.

I don't see this happening. It will be difficult to replace gold due to its relevance in several other sectors. Its applicability on jewellery making and store of value to several central banks around the world also makes it difficult to replace. Replacing gold with bitcoin will mean a total dislodging of traditional banking systems and beliefs which will be nearly impossible to achieve.

Gold existed thousands of years ago and bitcoin was only about 10 years ago, price is not a guarantee it is valuable or not, but a long life and a stable value is more valuable than anything.

And if it rises several times and then drops in price? No, gold has existed and will continue to exist as a measure of value, a store of value and a means of payment. I don't know almost everyone having gold, but yes, it is indeed very popular. And has many practical uses, which are very different from Bitcoin's uses. You can't make tooth out of Bitcoin, haha, to list the most mundane of gold's practical uses. Both have their place.

As far as I know there are many differences between bitcoin and gold. Because Bitcoin is a virtual object and gold is a surreal object. So there is no comparison with any of them. But before we saw people buying and holding gold but now they are buying and holding bitcoin instead of gold.Because the value of bitcoin increases a lot compared to gold.

yes, on average all must have gold, apart from being an investment it is also used as a disguised prestige. but both are equally good investments, the only difference is the risk involved. it is clear that gold is more secure than bitcoin, but behind it all also know that every time there is a big risk then behind it there will be a pretty lucrative income if successful. there will always be cause and effect. live which direction you will take, depending on what is in accordance with your wishes and the funds you have, of course.

Thoughts?  ::)

Gold is stable investment and bitcoin is very volatile but bitcoin is more profitable than gold.
I think bitcoinnhas potential and will replace gold at the coming future.
Bitcoin has high demand and so popular now.

I think Gold will remain an investment asset for everyone who is not familiar with Bitcoin. If Bitcoin can replace gold, there will be many negative effects, for example for a company that is currently a company whose main function is gold metal miners will stop operating and even gold craftsmen will not make gold crafts. And the most important thing for reality is there any of bitcoin craftsmen?
Bitcoin can never replace gold. Can anyone imagine that people will give up gold and gold jewelry in order to have numbers and signs with a certain amount of bitcoin in their virtual wallet? And if it rises several times and then drops in price? No, gold has existed and will continue to exist as a measure of value, a store of value and a means of payment. It's too early for Bitcoin to match it. Ten years of its existence versus millennia of gold existence is nothing.
Yes sir you are right I agree with you.  Because the opinion you have given about Bitcoin is certainly reasonable.  So please let us know if you have any more updated information.

Bitcoin cannot replace gold. In other words, the price in the cryptocurrency market is much higher. Bitcoin is becoming one of the most popular cryptocurrencies worldwide. Bitcoin can be used against money in the future. Different trading companies use Bitcoin for financial transactions. So I think Bitcoin could be valuable in the future. But it will never be able to replace gold.

There is without a doubt no factor of Bitcoin changing gold as they may be all exceptional belongings and may be capable of co-exist within side the marketplace. There are use of gold that Bitcoin can not do and vice versa. Why do you suspect gold is growing proper now if its destiny is seemed to be boomed due to Bitcoin? These  assets are to boom their price because of demand for and regarded many use cases of and benefits.

No one can know for sure. But if you calculate the cost of mining gold and bitcoin, then I vote for BTC. If we compare the cost of storing and transporting gold and bitcoin, then I am on the side of BTC and if we are fighting to save money, then the choice is obvious, it just takes time for everyone to get used to it.

Isn't bitcoin more valuable than gold right now?
The day will come and bitcoin, the king of cryptocurrencies, will take over the role of gold in central banks. This is not so far away. There's a chance it might be in 10 years. Now most countries and people know what crypto is, what a coin is. I think those days are not far away.

Value of gold by market capitalization is roughly 10 times that of bitcoin at the moment. That being said, to me it's just a matter of time before the market cap of bitcoin will reach, and then exceed, that of gold.

Bitcoin quantity is limited but Gold is unlimited. So it price never will big pump. But bitcoin is limited and it’s demand is increasing day by day so bitcoin price will big pump there has no doubt.

It is very difficult for Bitcoin to replace Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a digital asset and gold is a real asset that can be seen physically and seen by the eyes as well as by all human beings.
But in cryptocurrencies, of course there are surprises and it is certain that gold one day can surprise the gold market cap and this is very likely to happen.

I don't think this will happen. Bitcoin will not continue to rise in value. In this material world, everything has its limit. Housing, food, clothing and other material objects of our world cannot depreciate so much in comparison with virtual values. Therefore, I have a big doubt that bitcoin can rise in price, as some expect, up to a million dollars.
As for gold, it will always have its high value and will not be replaced by anything.

Yes it is certain that Bitcoin will one day replace gold. Moreover, in 2016, there was a big change in the currency, the price went up to 20 thousand dollars. However, it did not take long for that price to come down. In December 2016, the price dropped to ২০০ 3,200.
Bitcoin prices have been rising since the Corona epidemic began. In 2020, the price of digital currency has increased by 300 percent. Not only Bitcoin, but other digital currencies are also rising in price. Ethereum is the second most widely used digital currency after Bitcoin. In 2020, the price of this currency has increased by 465 percent.
Analysts believe that financial institutions are turning to bitcoin as an asset. Bitcoin users feel that Bitcoin is taking the place of gold as an asset. Analysts have speculated that the US dollar may depreciate in 2021, with fears that Bitcoin could rise further this year. At the start of the Corona epidemic, investors leaned towards the dollar to find reassurance amid uncertainty. This increases the value of the dollar. But later the dollar fell due to several incentive packages. As well as the acceptance of Bitcoin has increased as transactions or payment gateways like PayPal have now started accepting digital currencies. Paolo Ardiono, chief technology officer at cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, told The Guardian: "The digital currency market has never seen such a boom. As a result, the future of Bitcoin owners is very bright.

Bitcoin and gold are so different from each other that it seems that they are exactly opposite financial assets. This question has already been raised repeatedly and it is time to understand that people need both cryptocurrency and gold.

Crypto currency Definition of CURRENCY or commodity Definition of COMMODITY. There has always been a value to gold that has lasted for thousands of years, and this value will also remain

No intrinsic value is needed for something to be valuable. For example the dollar has no intrinsic value... you can't eat it, there is no precious metals in a dollar bill, etc. It is only valuable because the government says it is and because people agree. It is this agreement between people that something is valuable that makes it valuable.

With bitcoin, already everyone who understands it agrees about its value but the number of people who know about it and understand it is still a tiny fraction of the world... as this knowledge distributes to more and more people the perceived value can only be so much larger than now because there won't be that many more bitcoins as we go from %0.1 of the world population knowing about it to 1% to %10 and beyond.

We are just at the beginning with crypto, with bitcoin.

Taking the point that btc might be of more value than gold could be possible over time, but replacing it does not really have any effect, cause they are both two different assets and differ in their uses of place of value. In the digital world, btc can be transferred without anyone knowing what is happening, but that of gold, there have to be some security men around to stand as to avoid kidnapping or something of such.

For bitcoin to replace gold as a store of value, it would need to increase in market capitalization by a factor of roughly more than 10 from current valuations... this will surely happen in another 4 years (one more crypto cycle) if not sooner. Bitcoin fundamentals remain the same as ever before and nothing stands in its way in terms of continuing the long-term growth trend. Dismiss all the FUD around, we have seen it time and time again.

I understand that people feels they are more into Bitcoin and will always try to portray things about Bitcoin that is really not necessary. What makes you think Bitcoin will replace Gold as a store of value? And even with a time line if just 4 years 😂🤣😂. Bitcoin is already a store of value for some that invest on it but we still see how fast it drops in price with a single tweet from some people and news from some other countries.
No doubt we will continue to see Bitcoin adoption grow but even people that invest in Bitcoin still diversify their investments and ther will always be people that will not not invest in Bitcoin at all. Facts.

I agree. That's just not serious, in my opinion. Bitcoin is popular, yes, it's an incredible innovation. But it's not going to replace a trusted storer of value that has been trusted for centuries and has a huge number of practical applications in just a few years. That is not realistic. A number of younger people may see it that way, but I don't think the older generations would be so easily convinced. Not when Bitcoin's price is yo-yoing the way it does.

if to replace it seems I agree, because they are two different things and can not be equated. gold is tangible and very stable in price but bitcoin is intangible and not very stable because it follows the direction of the market.

If you want a safe investment, it is clearly recommended that gold only, but with the risk of an insignificant increase. if bitcoin can be ascertained that the investment every 4 years will soar high, even though we do nothing. if we are smart then we will be able to get more results from bitcoin with daily trading.

those who understand trading will clearly choose bitcoin compared to gold because gold only has the advantage that it can be used as accessories to show identity but cannot do daily trades like bitcoin and can earn from daily trades carried out.

Will Bitcoin ever replace gold? The answer I can give to this question is that Bitcoin is currently more expensive than gold. The percentage of gold made by Bitcoin is not rising at the rate at which it is rising. Bitcoin prices sometimes skyrocket and sometimes fall to the ground. But on the other hand, because it is beautiful and stable, sometimes its price increases a little and then it decreases a little.

Nowadays, relatively few people use cryptocurrency, and practically no one is going to give up gold.

Bitcoin and Gold are two different entities and will remain in their different lanes of operation. Yes, Bitcoin is proven to be a force to reckon with in terms of Investment as we have seen that, investing in Bitcoin can bring big gains and it is good as a store of value in that sense.
However, Gold has its own positive side. It has been in existence for generations and has been a reliable form of investment for generations and a store of value too and for most, more valuable because of its physical nature.
Bitcoin will not replace Gold IMO, both will continue to play their role as it best suits whoever is investing in them and uses them for whatever purpose that suits them at that time.

Bitcoin will never be able to replace gold. Because Bitcoin is a virtual currency. But the price of gold rises over time. Bitcoin may be extinct at some point but gold will never be extinct. We all know that bitcoin mining will end someday. But gold mining will always continue. Gold is a girls ornament that enhances the beauty of man. But Bitcoin can never be caught or touched.

Gold is a physical ornament, while Bitcoin is digital coin, I dont think gold will be better than bitcoin in the future in terms of value. I believe that the value of bitcoin will continued to rise, and it most likely, it will dominate gold but will not replace gold. Like I said, bitcoin is a digital money while gold is a physical ornament.

Gold is not just a physical ornament. Gold has plenty of practical applications in various important technologies. Only about half of the mined gold is actually used for jewelry.

As to the value, I think it is still up in the air which will be more valuable in the long-term.

So far, no financial asset has any chances to replace gold in the foreseeable future. This also applies to cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin. No matter how convenient and safe Bitcoin is, cryptocurrency has its drawbacks, like any financial asset. Gold and cryptocurrency have their own advantages and disadvantages and therefore may well simply complement each other. Plus, there will always be groups of people who will not want to give up on keeping their savings in gold.

Of course what you say is true, because it is two different investments. investment gold that has existed for a long time and in tangible form, can be felt, held and used as an accessory. investment bitcoin which is an advancement of the same digital technique is also very valuable, but intangible and can be felt, held but does exist.

both will go hand in hand because the needs for both are the same, because the investment is very profitable. although today many predict that bitcoin will beat gold, but then again everyone has very different desires in investing so that both will continue to exist.

Perhaps so, because now bitcoin plays the role of some kind of asset with which you can get rich quite well. The reason for this is that the bitcoins that are being born are still in the process of mining. But when they all end up in the hands of the holders, then, apparently, a new process of formation of the cryptocurrency will begin.

But unfortunately Bitcoin is a digital asset that was just born in 2009 and of course everyone still thinks that Gold is still the best to invest than Bitcoin.

The value of something new does not always look adequate. After all, once and gold was not so valuable. Now, apparently, not everyone understands the value of cryptocurrency. The main thing is that we have the opportunity to accumulate this asset, which in the future, I am sure, will acquire a value even greater than that of gold.

Bitcoin and Gold do not need to be compared and it would be nice if they were juxtaposed together to become a valuable asset for our future to be better or become useful savings in the future for our children and grandchildren.
No one knows our age, maybe now we die or tomorrow we will immediately leave this world, at least if we have Bitcoin and Gold then we can give a little hope for our descendants in the form of valuable assets.

Bitcoin can never be a substitute for gold.  You can't replace Bitcoin with gold just because of the price and the transaction.  Because there is no risk in carrying bitcoin, there is a risk of a big loss in case the price goes down to a big .  Gold, on the other hand, has been used by people for ages and will continue to do so in the future.  If you save gold for the future, the price may go down a bit again, so both Bitcoin and gold are reversible.

Frankly, the smaller volatility of Gold's price makes it such a good instrument to store wealth in, rather than make wealth out of. You can't store wealth in a cryptocurrency that rallies and falls with thousands of dollars within hours. You can, however, profit greatly out of that volatility.

I think that Bitcoin volatility is where the profit hinged, and with out this ups and down movement Bitcoin may not give the huge profit that we are experience today. As a matter of facts, gold has been here as s store of value but Bitcoin has arrived as a hedge against inflations. In my opinion, Gold is considered as a store of value but Bitcoin will be more profitable to hold to make huge profit than gold. Gold is used as a store of value by those with "older" mentality: low volatility, usually rising. Read article on Bricta.com
Bitcoin is used by those with some more appetite for risk and more tech savvy.

In time Bitcoin will become more stable. In time the older people will... leave room to others, which may at least be more tech savvy.
Now there's a demand for both. In time the balance will probably shift more and more towards Bitcoin.

Thoughts?  ::)

Never, I think It's impossible.
Gold will be legend of assets. because real asset.
Bitcoin is digital asset always be digital platform.
So, don't think digital asset will replace real asset.
I prefer to save both for future assets because if you only keep assets in the form of gold then you can't get much profit because stable price movements cannot provide enjoyment for gold holders, while bitcoin, you can see bitcoin price movements from the start created up to the current bitcoin price, so I think there will be a lot of profit depending on how you use gold and bitcoin.

First we need to think that the use case of bitcoin and gold is different. But if the gold money system come out in future generation as like people used gold as money, then bitcoin never be able to replace the gold . On the other hand , this presents situation is running under technology and if the young generation want something money system via online then bitcoin is the solution for them. In this case , bitcoin can easily replace the gold.

Even if bitcoin increases in price several times, this does not mean at all that it can replace gold. This will never happen, because he simply cannot do it. Price plays absolutely no role here. But the fact that bitcoin and gold have practically nothing in common with each other, so that such a replacement could be considered even theoretically, plays a significant role.
Gold has existed in its status for many millennia and will certainly exist for as many more. We can say something about bitcoin for a little over ten years. Not impressive.

Bitcoin and gold exist in different worlds - virtual digital and physical. As financial assets, they are not something, but that they are different, but they are practically diametrically opposed. Therefore, they can complement each other, but not replace each other. In any case, there will always be a need for gold.

There are use of gold that Bitcoin can't do and vice versa. Why do you think gold is rising right now if its future is perceived to be doomed because of Bitcoin? These two assets are to increase their value due to demand and known many uses and benefits.

Bitcoin, like gold, is a limited resource. The world's physical gold market is valued at $ 2.6 trillion today, including assets held in gold ETFs, according to JPMorgan research. Of course, the cryptocurrency sector is dozens of times smaller, but bitcoin also has a limited supply of coins, which makes it as scarce as the precious metal. Therefore, both gold and bitcoin can be used to store savings from inflation. For example, companies like MicroStrategy and Mode have already invested some of their profits in bitcoin. Business representatives see cryptocurrencies as an alternative way to protect assets from dollar inflation.

As a matter of fact Bitcoin cannot replace gold though it has attained a high value and popularity. Gold is a natural asset and it's tangible while Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which is intangible and it's also a digital asset and also it cannot be exchanged physically.

I don't think bitcoin can ever replace gold because they have very different physical forms, gold is very useful when everything goes back to the stone age where there was no electricity and no internet so gold can be a very valuable item than gold, so gold is still survive in the future.

I am quite certain that it won't replace gold. Unless our need for gold in various practical application changes, unless we find a way to mine it and process it in more efficient ways, Gold is here to stay, regardless of Bitcoin's popularity.

Both are different thing, gold is real asset and we all know bitcoin is digital asset.
So, I don't believe bitcoin will replace gold at the coming future.

Maybe this will happen because all states evaluate their gold as stability in their country. Bitcoin as an assistant in transfers between countries is a very convenient payment system where a minimum commission is charged for the transaction of large amounts.

This issue has already been discussed many times and the majority has always expressed the opinion that bitcoin cannot replace gold. I am also of the same opinion. Bitcoin and gold are completely opposite financial assets, they are united only by a relatively high cost. The same situation with these assets will remain. There is no point in changing anything.

The truth is that I do not think that BTC replaces gold, it does not make sense that gold competes with BTC or vice versa, both represent money, this is like saying that it is more valuable to have Btc than Fiat money, it is not like that, both represent money, the Gold has a long history, it is accepted worldwide, it has brought many countries out of crisis, this is something that BTC has not yet done, however BTC is one of the best things that has happened to it in the world, with just a little more than 10 years and has achieved a lot, this means that it will be successful and great value in the future.

In the future more people will choose Bitcoin over gold, If that's what you mean then I totally agree.
I see today, many stock and forex investors have switched to Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin).
This is because the potential for profit in Bitcoin is greater, and this will also be the case for Gold Investors.
In the future, many Gold investors will move to Bitcoin.

It is necessary to look more realistically at cryptocurrency, fiat money and such an eternal value as gold. Cryptocurrency will not displace either fiat or gold. It can only occupy a certain niche in the global financial system, where fiat will still play the leading role.
Gold will retain its value at all times, cryptocurrency can increase its role in the financial life of our society, gold will always remain gold.

I think for Bitcoin to truly replace gold it would have to become less volatile. Even though it has established itself as a prestigious and trustworthy cryptocurrency, it is still considered a high-risk asset as opposed to gold. It is a great store of value, though, and in the future I can imagine it will have a similar role.

Gold and bitcoin are almost completely opposite financial assets. They have nothing in common, except for the high price. They can complement each other well, but they cannot displace each other. Cryptocurrency still needs a long time to establish itself in society, and gold has been around for thousands of years. Humanity needs to be reinsured, different financial assets should be used as currency. Cryptocurrency needs the Internet, certain technical devices, energy. All this can disappear in an instant after some global catastrophe.

There is a big difference between the Gold and the Bitcoin becasue Gold price will not go high instantly like the BTC but the BTC price go high so much in a single day and also it will comes down like this. So we need to invest in the Bitcoin and hold this for a short time when the price go high then we need to sell our coin in a good price.

yes, it is clear that the difference between gold and bitcoin is of course the obvious one physically, because gold can be seen as not for bitcoin. if you are right about the price, that bitcoin is always changing rapidly depending on the market at that time, if you really want to use the daily price difference for trading, of course you can do it with bitcoin and it is very interesting, but it does take time to keep watching.
but bitcoin has advantages that gold does not have, where bitcoin will continue to increase sharply every time the halving occurs and is very good for long-term investment, gold is also very good for long-term investment but the increase is not as big as bitcoin.

but whether bitcoin will be able to replace gold? will never happen, because they are two very different things and have their own capacities and interests. they will run on their own with very different uses.

Bitcoin and altcoins offer higher profits but don't forget the risk is bigger. The price of Bitcoin and altcoins are unpredictable, they can increase massively and can decrease very sharply as well. There is no guarantee that Bitcoin and altcoins to survive a long time, we only can guest the indicators. While gold, must survive from year to year, it has been proven to us. This investment is the safest one, but does not offer the profits as big as in Bitcoin or altcoins.

Cryptocurrency will never replace gold. In the same way, cryptocurrency will not be able to displace fiat. This could still be possible if they lived in the world of spirits, without a corporeal shell. But we live in the material world. In order to use cryptocurrency everywhere, you need special equipment, software, energy and the Internet, theoretical and practical knowledge in this area. There will always be a lot of people who do not want to complicate their lives. Therefore, the cryptocurrency will take its place in the global financial system and will cooperate and interact with it.

Bitcoin appears to have the potential to dethrone gold and oil as the  preeminent stores of value. According to a recent Goldman Sachs report, as digital assets become more widely adopted, Bitcoin may overtake gold's market share by 2022. Bitcoin may become that in the future, but it is currently too volatile to replace gold.

Bitcoin, like any other cryptocurrency, cannot replace gold. It is excluded in principle. The digital age cannot replace our existence in this material world. Therefore, digital money will become another type of money, and not dominant in the global financial sector. Even if such a possibility existed, the states would not allow it.
