According to a 2020 study by the Cremation Institute, nearly 90% of crypto owners are worried about what will happen to their crypto after they pass away. Furthermore, despite a high level of concern, crypto holders are reportedly four times less likely to use wills for inheritances than non-crypto investors.

Millions of dollars in crypto is being lost each year through the deaths of its owners. Crypto insurance firm Coincover estimates that around 4 million Bitcoin, or $68 billion at publishing time, is out of circulation after access was lost, with a large portion likely caused by death.

In fact, there are a number of ways for investors to bequeath their crypto to the next generation, but each method requires some decision-making and planning, as well as some general knowledge about how crypto works:

One should always confide in at least a loved one with their private keys and details in cases of eventualities and unfortunate events. These things happen and then if provisions weren't made to forestall the effects theat come thereafter, assets are lost forever. You can share your details with a love one, friend or family member to ensure situations like this never happen.

Great question. While I personally wouldn't share private keys with family members, as I don't trust them that much, I have shared my ledger pins with a trusted family member. Thus, if/when I pass away, my hardware wallets will go to the right person, my crypto doesn't go to waste. No kids over here either.

I like the idea of putting it in a will, but I don't think I trust solicitors enough to give them passwords to an encrypted device, even if well stored away

trust the keys to your most trusted person! if it is accidentally cause then their could be someone to access your account so it won't lost on the space. i think one should write down or put the keys on the USD then ask the most trusted person that if anything happen the keys is in the USB. with this action nothing should be left behind in the crypto space.

After accumulating a lot of crypto coins and having a lot of advantages in crypto, it has become very complicated to share private keys with trusted people.
But everyone has a different choice in their life, I will share a phrase or private key with my partner when the time comes, we won't know what they will do, but with trust, they can use the coins I have for charity or something else.

To be honest, i have no plans. i believe that if i die , whatever i left behind will be found but if is not let it be lost for ever but i will try my best to make sure i informed my loved ones about my assets and there worth. the idea remains that we all will surely die one day but we don't know when. death awaits all and no one is free from it.

Cryptocurrency, if in my opinion, is real property like land ownership in the real world, which when I die, it must be handed down or given to my child.
With this, I have a keyword to open a folder in the "Gold Box" for my children to open someday which contains the keywords for centralized exchange, private keys and even back up for the authenticator.

Maybe right now this "Gold Box" is still a secret to its existence but when I am dying, I will give the password to my children.

Better way is just leave or give to you family since in the next world cryptocurrency will be useful for you for shopping, but we don't know what is beyond the limit, maybe it's only cryptocurrencies that go and trade with might and main on exchanges) But I think everyone agrees on what to leave the family, but there are many people including in many families who do not know at all how to use a wallet and how it works in general (how to check the balance, how to sell, how to withdraw), and it turns out that all the savings in the crypt can simply disappear due to the ignorance of your relatives that you have some savings (anything can happen to anyone at any time, unfortunately). And how to find a way out of this situation? Tell, show, teach in advance? Well, how else?

I am personally maintaining a record of my cryptocurrency involvement so that anybody of my family can have access into it once I am done with this world. Of course, I am wishing that I can be able to see Bitcoin reach the $10 million level before I die...hoping that in my own lifetime BTC will really be so highly prized. There are now some platforms which offers protection and smooth transfer of digital assets once the owner is gone 6 feet underground. I am sure anybody can find one that is suitable to his/her taste.

I have no children till now but I don't share my private keys, account password, wallet phase and email among my relatives. But I am sure after my dead all my cryptocurrencies assets would be vained. No one can recover my password, account phases and private keys.

Personal information cannot be shared with anyone. Unfortunately if you share your account information, it could hurt you at any moment. So I don't think any account information should be shared with anyone. Because such activities cause the most damage. So everyone should be careful.

I really do not know. But of course, it will be one of the heritage that I will give to my children. In this case, I personally believe that this can be a good idea to give my children dn also family good time about understanding this crypto.

This will always be one of the very difficult questions in cryptocurrency.  In the absence of a will for ordinary property, which is available for viewing, the rules of law come into force and the property of the deceased will be inherited by his relatives.  In the absence of a will and other similar cryptocurrency-related precautions, it is very difficult to do anything here, especially if there is no access to the private keys.  Due to the peculiarities of cryptocurrencies, after the death of their holders, a significant part of them will be lost anyway.  A person is built in such a way that he thinks little about his death and often leaves life without finishing all his affairs.  Not four million bitcoins have been lost, but at least twice as many.  A few years ago, they talked about six or seven bitcoins lost for various reasons.  This problem will probably always be.

I think my next generation will use my cryptocurrency resources after my death. Because all my information is stored in a certain place. Which my family members know. And I think they will be able to use these after my death. Some members of my family are very good at this. So I'm not too excited about cryptocurrency resources.
